Apparently I was supposed to feel agonizing pain after the surgery or something. A little soreness was all.

Lucky duck.

I am to the point where I only go in if there is a quality of life issue for him. When he was limping I took him in because it took so long to heal. The GP vet was sure something tore. ACL or something. Ortho toom a look and said... hairline fracture at worst. Pain pills, and I held him and iced the swollen parts and held him for an hour so he wouldn't walk while cold.

The meds helped but the ice and TLC did more for him. It took him a looooong time to heal up because he is big and jumpy. May stilk have a problem, but for now I just get meds from the vet and go. He has allergies so bad his nose dries and splits. No one knows why. Antibiotics help a bit but can't stay on them. Olive oil every day I remember does the best. Sometimss coconut oil as it stays on longer. Petroleum jelly if we are going to be outside and dry for a while, or really cold and windy.

my parent's dog has a similar problem and they're not sure what the deal is. we thought it was just a briar stuck in his throat but that was only the cause of puking once or twice. he's eating chicken and plain noodles now and it seems to have worked. so maybe it was just acid reflux or something..

Where are you going, for how long and why?

And if this is not for work but for the honeymoon, good luck doing anything but throwing all practical packing sense out the window. tongue.png

Funny you ask because I got to thinking about it because the W (first itme I can use that) is wanting to get matching luggage (because girls love that shit). It got me wondering about getting luggage for work.

I have a 17" humongous work laptop that I have to carry with me and I currently just have a huge work backpack I carry it with. My work laptop weighs atleast 8 pounds alone (before charger, etc.) and the last time I used it I carried my personal laptop as well and it was uncomfortable with all that and some extra stuff.

Currently for personal trips I have no problem just carrying my personal backpack with my iapd, but for work (or longer trips) I would bring the carry on as well since I really can't store nice clothes in my personal backpack and it could do the heavy lifting for the laptop.

As far as honeymoon packing, it will be hilarious. Her clothes are at least half the material as mine (probably more like a third) and she always packs 2x as much as I do tongue.png But that's what the ladies do, no big deal to me.

Do you guys use any oil additives in your vehicles? Or fuel additives?

For a while now, I have always put in Lucas product in my oil, and at least 2 times a year through my fuel system. Do you think it make a difference or is worth it. I know I can tell the difference right away when I use it. Engine runs quieter, maybe smoother. I don't know if it is running any better though. I do see better MPG with the fuel additive, but I am not sure if it covers the cost of the product. If I go a little heavy by accident it can really slow down acceleration unless WOT. I use seafoam in the bike at the start and end of season, but in my truck seafoam never seamed to do much.

For oil I have used full synthetic, usually buy what ever big name is on sale or Motorcraft. Motorcraft is cheep usually, but it actually seems to "wear out" faster. I don't know how to explain it, it just feel less peppy faster. I got the engine with only a few thousand miles on it so it has has full synthetic the whole time.

What do you guys think?

Don't you guys have health and dental insurance?

That's what I was wondering. I had 4 pulled, two were broken,GA, and only paid $500 out of pocket.

Had my daughters pulled and between both health and dental, I payed $0.

It's cheaper for me to have a higher deductible. My insurance taken out after taxes therefor I can claim it on my taxes.

Besides dental cleaning twice a year is covered by my health insurance. Along with any damage not caused by lack of hygiene.

Plugs are the same. Both engines use the same heads, plugs, COPs, cams, etc. I use MC or NGK, but use whatever you want. Champion is shit IMO though. And you ALWAYS want to use anti seize when mating dissimilar metal, especially aluminum.

The F150 5.4 I did had a 2 piece plug from the factory. Here is what my fil had in his

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/acf-sp515/overview/make/ford/model/f-150

Those are for the 3 valve head. The truck you did was 2004 or newer correct? Matt has 2 valve heads.

Hell even the 3 valve heads are the same. You can interchange them all actually. That's what the modular engine design was all about.

Curious, are the intake manifolds interchangeable as well, or are they head specific?

They are specific to the heads, but the 2 Valve head had two different designs and you can interchange them, although they do not match 100%.  The gaskets make up for it though.  Also, each engine size will be a specific intake.  The 5.4 has an increased stroke and deck height, so it takes a different manifold.  There are companies that make adapters though to fit the 4.6 intakes on 5.4s.

That might be one (of many, I'm sure) reason I haven't seen any TVS supercharger kits being offered for 2v/4v motors.

There are several.  In fact, both Roush and Edelbrock's kits use the TVS.  And they will mount up to the Cobra base as well.  I'm not too sure about the Kenne Bell, but most of the twin screw guys don't much care about an Eaton anyways.

That's too bad. Not a whole lot of first hand experience, but the TVS units don't seem to scream like the KB/Whipple/M90/M112/M122 blowers. Obviously it's install dependent, though.

How can you not like that sound? Personally, I much prefer the sound of the centrifugals.

Could be. The fuel additives make an instand difference though. Audibly

A little blower whine is fine; something like this would drive me nucking futs though:
