Got a new job, wife got a new job. Should be sitting on fat stacks of loot soon.... I should go out for steak.. but all I want is shitty ramen noodles.

I fuxored you

Oh, how so?

You love my wet slippery noodles. I give it to you once and you can't get enough

Its the deep salty and umami flavor. Better than crack. Hard to lift with chopsticks until skilled though.

Interesting. I've always found it MUCH easier to eat with sticks, but perhaps the skilled is implied on my part.

Want something else to use chopsticks for? Try salads. You'll absolutely hate using a fork afterwards. Almost makes me carry them to restaurants for that purpose.

Chopsticks for salad FTW.

I was at a barbecue Saturday and while eating fries and salad I was thinking "this would be so easy with chopsticks".

I prefer chop sticks too, especially for some types of pasta like Penne.

I know there are some turbo freaks here so I'll ask:

During the weekend I tested how well my intercooler works. After about a minute climb at full-boost, about mid-range revs, the IAT got to 140F while outside temps were 57F. Couldn't measure turbine outlet temperature since the insulation of the sensor wires melted and it shorted on the IC. The wires were between the hose clamp and IC. There are reports of a 10 psi pressure drop over the intercooler.

Upgrade or just vent the bumper?

If you are losing 10lbs through the IC, Then that thing is WAY too small.

I have decided it might be a good idea to replace the sparkplugs in the truck since I am doint the COPs.

Maybe I asked but is there any brand or anything I should get. 5.4 2v in a 97 expy. Is there something online I should get or is local ok?

Also anytthing I should know when putting them in? Dielectric rubbed on the plugs correct? Do they NEED to be torqued or can I just twist them in solid but not ultra tight?

I suppose I'd just go with whatever is the motorcraft plug for that year.  Bit of antiseize and torque of 'eh' and its golden.  Unless you don't know the torque spec of 'eh'.

Bought a Mavic wheelset, with Deore LX hubs, quick release skewers and Shimano cassette for $35 today. Now I only need tires and I have a set of extra wheels for trail riding smile.png

The hubs are worth more than that. I have had terrible luck with Mavic, but they are French so that is expected. And really, if they don't do what you need lacing your own on those hubs more than saved you what you paid. smile.png

The cassette is worth $25, geared better for road use too compared to mine and it has very little use. Honestly, I think they are better than the Ridiga's which I have now: typical simple front and double Zac19 rear, both with Shimano RM40 hubs. And these have not needed truing since I trued them.

Do you have a dislike for a lot of french things too? laugh.png

He despises their cooking-ware. :ninja:

you are NOT going to have fun. you have to pull the fuel rails and everything to get to the plugs. i would HIGHLY suggest you put new coil packs in at the same time so you only uave to do it once.

I have coil over plugs aka COPs. That is what I am replacing. And when I replaced one I pulled the sparkplug for giggles and it had some build up. So I thought since spark plugs are cheep, might as well.

As for the fuel rail, I didn't have to to get them off, but it was a shit load easier to just do it. Not a big deal though.

From what I have seen, I agree. I just didn't know if I needed special rules for the spark plugs. Special grease or what ever.

The 5.4 takes a different plug (2 piece) and make sure you use some pb blaster (allows plug to break free easier) and then blow the hole out with compressed air. Take your time because if you break one, boy they can be a bitch without the proper tool. Silcone dielectic grease on the little boot at the end of the coil.

My 4.6 took all of 4hrs and man do plug wires suck in tight areas.

It took a lot less on the 5.4 last time I did the COPs.

Never did the spark plugs

Plugs are the same. Both engines use the same heads, plugs, COPs, cams, etc. I use MC or NGK, but use whatever you want. Champion is shit IMO though. And you ALWAYS want to use anti seize when mating dissimilar metal, especially aluminum.

This should help.

Is that the same engine in the F150s that had an issue with blowing out the sparkplugs? I don't remember if it was a 4.6 or 5.4

My 98 4.6 had normal plugs in it.
