Would be nice if the steam will remove blood and ink stains. I am allergic to most chemicals, so fuck that route. I already only use 1/2 of the one soap that doesn't  fuck my skin up. fluffing shirts is the only reason I would use the dryer. Then again I've never had an article of clothing dry cleaned. 

The steam is not a must, but both have it available. More after size and relatively quiet. Most in the mid mark range have steam. I don't want college specials. looking for something to last.

About to the store, to drop the coin. They won't have the machines in for a few weeks, but they are on sale now. I'm going with the lg's.

My wife has sensitive skin too Jared.

 

Used to even use sensitive skin product.  What works even better is using powdered detergent.  The powder has a lot less chemical in it.  My skin even got healthier and I don't have sensitive skin.

 

We use the smallest amount. Maybe 1/3 of a scoop even if it's filthy. The washer gets it wonderfully clean.

 

I think right now we just use unscented tide from Costco

Any shirt worth steaming, IMO, deserves a proper steamer.

I am not a fan of "proper" steamers on my shirts.  Sending shirts to a shirt machine cuts their life in half and puts creases where they don't belong.  Of course I am a rare male in that I can iron a shirt about as fast as I can brush my teeth, but of course I still don't want extra wrinkles to make it harder.  I also prefer 100% cotton ones which suck to iron generally.

Other advantage of steam in a dryer is simple.  Dry heat sets wrinkles wet softens them.  Softer is better.

Don't do that.  Delicate doesn't get any soap out which is harder on your shirts than anything.  If you compensate by not using soap then you'll grind the grit in.  A front loader isn't so hard on shirts.  Drying them poorly is.

As for washers we have couple 135s, several 450 open pockets, and even more 900lb side loaders.  

 

I'm currently changing a pump/motor on one of the 900s as we speak.

Belt driven though so easy as hell to fix.  Talk about simple.  Valve for steam on/off and a switch to make it rotate.

I was referring to a handheld steamer for home use.  

 

I'm with you on the commercial steamers/presses though.

I LOVE my Braun washers.  The only hydraulics are the tilt cylindes and door actuator.
