Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Recommended Posts

Tried my first crack at coffee roasting. Bought a popcorn popper recommended by sweet maria's and 8 lbs of sampler beans.

Seems like by beans only made it through the first crack but they seem to have come out vienna. I was shooting for full city (oops). Not sure if I need to do something to slow down the roast.

I tried to keep them moving as much as possible to keep things even, but I'm not sure if that will be the best method as once things got going they moved pretty well.

The roast doesn't seem remarkably even and it looks like there is quite a bit of chafe left over. Not sure if that is normal, but I cleaned it up the best I could.

We will see how they taste tomorrow. It's got to be better than the Folgers at work :P

I enjoy the aroma of coffee and tea, but cannot drink either without filling them with sugar.

OK, so Seth bought his first set of cans. They are easily driven, 18 ohm cans. Sennhieser Momentums.

Who here uses cans and what amps are you using? Interested in tubes.

Requirements:

  • must be able to roll so they have to be socketed.
  • down to 18 ohms, 20 should be safe
  • I would really like 3.5mm and RCA inputs
  • small footprint
  • under $250

Shoot!!!

Mofo!! better get a hold of me sethy!!  I mean it it!! angry2.gif

Its going ok, did aluminum mig a handful of times comes out nice but you cannot "whip" back ito the puddle like regular mig it leaves black shit on the aluminum. And have tried aluminum tig a handful of times I can also lay down a nice bead on it. A few months back tried to TIG weld aluminum with DC, the filler rod melted like playdo... i was like WTF is going on, later on I figured out Tig aluminum is AC lol

Mostly what i deal with is .045 solid/flux cored stainless steel wire "Hyundai" ...And seldom ESAB marathon pac's will lay some nice beads with aluminum..

Barrels 661lbs for hyundai..

That's one of my least favorite attitudes about mechanics. What is it you do for a living? Do you like to do it for free for someone who just walks in the door? By your statement I am to assume that you expect me to take 15 minutes to work for free just for you. Not only that, but I should hook up my $15,000 scan tool up and provide you with my years of experience for free.

Why do people feel like mechanics should just do shit for them for free? Just because I am greasy means I don't deserve to make a living?

I keep my wire speed at 300 and voltage at 6.25 roughly on carbon steel and aluminum any where from 2mm to 5mm in thicknees with no burn through's all day long when I need to and laying a bead 200mm + long not just a tack...It is all in your control of movement and the distance of your nozzle and speed on your pass...I will keep my nozzle about 10mm from my weld prevents porosity when using a gas mix and not flux core.. And pause a bit after the bead for all the gas to remove from the orifice of the diffuser ..
