Looking for a tablet for some basic shit.

 

-Playing music while flying

-Internet

-Basic typing

 

 

Anybody have any SOLID reasons to go away from an iPad besides cost and if cost is the only reason what makes the other better for the $$$?

I'd look at that differently. What possible reason would you look at an ipad for in that application?

 

 

The reason's for me.

 

-Droid's operating system seems to continuously drop out on my cellphone. The apps run meh at best and I have been consistently disappointed with is.

-Played with Window's 8 and it just seems so craptastic from a quick use of it. 

-Not trying too concerned with 'lossless' music files as currently most music produced only seems to be minorly improved in a loss less format and as such the extra space isn;t worth it IMHO.

-Never have had an issue with iTunes or any of their other operating systems. If I recall Microsoft does have compatibility apps that will work back and forth with Microsoft Word. The only down side it its inability to work with Java.

 

 

I can stomach spending the extra cash now since they seem to retain their values pretty damn well unlike many other tablets. The ability of being able to use it with my cellular data service (Verizon) if I choose is also growing on me. Being able to just use a bit of data instead of paying 10 bucks for wi-fi at some airports is a plus. Especially since it wouldn't mean my cell is now tied up for a bit.

Yep, IMO it is absolutely the worst piece of software EVER developed. It's sole purpose is to get you to spend money at the itunes store, not to help you play music.

I have no problem navigating over 300 albums on my iPod touch.

But is it worth the hassle to have to go 'freeware' hunting every time they try to patch something and fuck it up worse?  I just have been getting sick of windows as of late. Especially with their issues.

 

As for the free wi-fi that is usually true. But other spots it doesn't exist. The other cellular data deal is because a lot of my travel will be by car or plane in the next year. I've been offered a few positions that will require numerous travel, and sometimes hunting for wi-fi will be more trouble than its worth IMHO.

Meaning if its not the droid operating system then what continuously causes shit to fail? As for freeware hunting, again I've never had issues with apple failing but I haven't owned one of their actual computers in over 10 years. I have some friends who own them and swear by them. 

 

 

 

And In appreciate the advice Sean. I'm looking all over and some places tell me iPad is the best choices, others say I'm fucking nuts.

How do I know what you have, what you did, what your failures are and what not? I will say I've had bloatware concerns with non-rooted Droids, but even then outside of an occasional piece of shit hardware from a stupid manufacturer there are not problems. Think about it, it flat out isn't possible otherwise the internet would be alive with anti-Droid commentary. You see what happens here when one sub breaks, people shit. Now imagine that times a million. The flaw is absolutely not intrinsic to the operating system.

I used to use only Apple's. Saw the light a little while back.

Pretty much guarantee nearly everyone that recommends an Apple product is either non-computer literate or owns one and hasn't really tried another solution. No harder than you tried Windows 8. *read no judgement on 8 from that comment, just a reflection on your comment above*
