Mine is a Dimension One. An older model so no linky. Curious what you discovered as to how to pick one that is top of the class?

 

Everything is opinion in the spa world. Motor, heater, and control specs along with quality of insulation and build quality.

 

Strong spas and PDC spas are build very local to me, so I have been lucky enough to talk to friend who work for them and they gave me a bit of insight as to what is important to focus on.

Have had to replace the control board twice now. Once when I bought it and again after about 3 years. Also replaced the ozone and pump seals.

 

Your ozone is a bulb? Pump seals are normal wear in the 10 year range. 

 

What control system do you use?

Front of the port area is actually smooth.. guess the darker color shades of the filler makes it look like groves Idk?

Is a Gecko board and t-9 controller. Has the heater build into the bottom of the board assembly. 4kw heater IIRC. The Dimension One's had a proprietary board and controller build by Gecko. I just ordered the universal one with correct specs.

Yes the Ozone is a bulb. I replaced the whole unit as it needed it. Forgot to say those parts were trivial.

Just another beautiful day covering the world with White trash one tattoo anytime!!

We are down to just my brother and I at the shop right now, so working two days a week by myself. Makes for some crazy busy days trying to tattoo and deal with clients at the same time. Need a dizzle!

Yay, more computer wtf.

 

If I do a lot of shit at once it shuts down.  Won't turn on and start up then as it tries to go into Repair windows mode.  Let it rest for an hour and it starts up again fine.

 

My guess is over heating.  Stays on if you only have webpages, but not if you do more.

 

Of course what killed it yesterday was just transferring files from hard drive to hard drive.

 

When hot it wouldn't even start in Ubuntu.

 

Normally I'd just say eff it and buy a new motherboard and proc when this happens, but mine isn't all that old.  Any way to trouble shoot what is getting hot or overloading that forces the shut down?

What motherboard? Assuming this is a desktop....Memory installed? Depending on the bios tell me what your core voltage and ddr voltage is set at..."if you can tweak" also I would flash/update your bios as well...They are bugs that will target your bios settings and can cause overheating..

For future reference if possible I would go with Raid1..Just in case you happen to have a HD with a defective PCB..If everything looks good in your bios settings you can always try replacing the PCB on the HD..But mare sure it has the same firmware.

Use hardware monitor, then use a stress test. Find out what gets hot and kills it.

I'm not sure how something can over heat that bad without there being a fan/cooler issue.
