I knew a guy who stripped the oil plug on his ATV and JB welded back in...

Until the M5 I hadn't owned a non-Ford Galaxy as a daily driver car for more than a year. I'd almost take a step down to change.

Of course, if I really need to do all sorts of shit to make it acceptable it becomes a law of diminishing returns rather rapidly.

Perhaps you need to lower your expectations to equal your spending limit.

Anyone use JB Weld? Just cleaned my engine side cover (magnesium), and JB Welded a small crack. Hopefully it'll last for a few weeks until I can order a new cover.

It usually works well, but it is definitely hit or miss.

2 straight hours of fiberglassing. Time flies when you're having fun.

Good thing for the mask, otherwise I would have killed what little brain cells I have.

Sounds like a buy the jeep recommendation. Doh.gif

Money doesn't go as far 2 years later though.

When I bought the ML I could have gotten a Cayenne Turbo, X5M, or the ML all certified and covered for the whole period. Now that is tough. Really have to find an exception and probably use a third party warranty or get something cheaper.

Spending limit CAN be stretched, but then it is out of my pocket. Sort of defeats the purpose of a free car if I pay for it. Of course, I paid for brakes, tires, rims, and other stuff on the ML to the tune of around $125/mo which isn't quite free either. I'd love to remove the expense.

And yeah, I know. Problems and me bitching. Pretty superficial, but you are the only people in the world I can actually express it with and not feel like a bigger ass. Amazing what keyboard separation does.

I will listen across some fiberglass, with glasses of bourbon and smoking big cigars lit with stacks of hundreds.

Haters gonna hate. I'm hate my superficial decisions too, I would give you shit if your budget was 1/10 or 100times as much.

Find the break room at your work, and start talking about your problems. :D

Don't feel like an ass. Somone always has it worse or has it better. Both sides get my respect, and I try to focus on elevating myself and those I care about and not fucking anyone else over.

I like the shit. Pretty sure my soccer mom choice shocked everyone when I made it last time, I'll probably do something similar this time too. Although you've all seen the thought process typed out.

Plus I think I'd just call you a jackass if someone with your title was bitching about not being able to pick a 650$/mo car lease they wanted while in the breakroom....  biggrin.png

Until you mentioned the house sale thing I thought your reluctance to just buy either the speedy whip or the truck and make work pay for the other was nonsensical.

You have worked hard and it is a reasonable indulgence to finally get a truck for what you need and a dream car for what you want. My guess is you work a good triple the hours most of us do.

And unbeknownst to the forum, the Pantera has been usurped. Still oval powered, but exactly somewhat the plan with the cheaper car. In 3 years, I'd "lease" a Q1.

Can get a VERY clean one right now for $60k which I'd EASILY get to in the Pantera. Figure in 3 years, I can find one for $50k and have no problems leasing it. By then I'll have a garage and if I "build" the truck I want now I'll still have a way of towing stuff.

If I kept them both for 9 years work would have paid for them both completely. I like that.

I don't know what that is, but I have fallen in love with the Pantera myself.

What is better about that?

Or I lease a newer car and turn it back in and in 3 years do the same.
