My office is in Irvine so I stay in Laguna Beach. Some parts of NorCal don't sour me as bad but after being there for a week I sorely want to get the fuck out. Our development center is in Campbell which I frequent as well.

 

That's probably why my opinion is polar opposite of yours, I have yet to venture down to LA. Everyone says its a slum, but I'd still like to check it out. NorCal reminds me of the town I grew up in.

Last person I know who went to France commented the people were nice once you got out of Paris.

Service people there learned something some years back. Americans tip and the Japanese and Germans SUCK as tourists. Considering the three encompass 90% of tourists guess what has happened?

I spend as much time in Norcal...while I like it more, it still sucks.

Everything that is good about strawberry flavor, intensified.

They also have no waste as a side bonus. The green basically falls off as the berry melts.

Chickens are different too. Maybe I just purchased a better kind.... Bones are different ratios and the breast doesn't taste like horseshit.

In general I hate chicken as an ingredient but a few dishes get me in the feels. Roast chicken, chicken soup, and chicken thighs for chicken paprikosh.

The vendor below me has fresh roasted chickens everyday and I had to grab a couple. So fucking good.

I actually grabbed some Belgium strawberries by accident, and was surprised how good they were. Reminded me of the ones my grandfather grew.

Then I noticed that I grabbed the "wrong" berries and sweet Jesus did it get even better.

Now I know why he mentioned them in his book.

Also made a few trips to the wine man. They have one of my favorites there. A Madeiras wine. I stopped my meds for the vacation and it's worth it.

Today I want to walk down the Champs, but my knee is being a fucker. Going to ice it and if I need to cab over and March down the most celebrated road in the damn world.
