Hopefully can start bolting on suspension today! Everything is stripped, prepped and parts are layed out. Would already be together, but decided to change the oil pan and run the trans lines with everything out of the way.

Auto trans is missing the neutral safety switch and kickdown. Trans mount fell out in pieces. Shifting linkage is roasted. Why couldn't it just have a manual.

I have no intentions of making this car my life's work. My wife's grandmother bought the car off the showroom floor in '64, so restoring it for the wife. I could think of dozens of cars I would rather build.

Wife's Gma had one of the first 50 heart transplants. Needless to say she has been gone a while.

Oil pan removed, gasket scraped. What a mindless job. Twisted up a hog leg of the Sour D to make it all better.

Not that I know anything about vehicles but couldn't you have some way to switch between two tunes and have one detuned for ice / if the W drives?

I'm willing to bet a standalone ECU can do that.

It depends on the hardware/software.  Most aftermarket tuning solutions allow for multiple programs even on the factory computers. . .  At least with the domestics.  I know some of the imports are nearly impossible to touch.

I'd rather go more on power and have it come on non-instantly then be where I want to be all from the go. I realize the latter feels quicker and is more nasty and that has a fun factor, but it also squashes driveability when you really want to make power.

As for your 4 digit power, that is funny. Not saying it can't be done, but throw all driveability out the window. Not the case with a Turbo. At least in the LS world nearly no one breaks the 800hp barrier with superchargers, but a shit load do with Turbos. Yes, tons of exceptions but as a percentage they are trivial.

I've seen several Camaros making this power with the 427 and 2.3 TVS, with zero issues on the driveability side.

Now, I LOVE me some turbos, but for simplicity's sake and the budget, the blower is a no brainer.  Hell, if you want "lag,"  buy a big fucking centrifugal.  You already know how fun those can be.

376/402's and a TVS don't make 4 digit power, not without LOTS of help. Tons of guys with 292's and Turbo's doing it.

As for the budget, on my truck the Turbo is dollar for dollar the same or cheaper per HP.

You never specified size in relation to power.  Of course the turbo is always going to make more power boost for boost.   It's using otherwise wasted energy to produce power.

I just don't see the point in chasing numbers for a street vehicle.   You are NEVER going to be able to use the power, so why buy the biggest turbo that will be a dog down low and only make power past 4K where the truck will almost never be?

They always start out that way.  The next thing you know, you've got years and tens of thousands of dollars in them.  Those parts you are missing are cheap and easy to replace, so don't sweat it too much.

Nothing can compete with the family treatment I got in Rome....... But this is one of the most wonderful places on earth.

My knee is horribly swollen today, so we just walked to the tower, but it's exceptional. The air is relaxing.

Thank you for the recommendation. Absolutely ideal so far.

I am not. Could care less about numbers. Want the hairy edge of traction
