Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I of course spent WEEKS thinking about the two. Wanted the L bad, but the more I read and played with the more I realized that was THE reason I wanted it.

SInce you bought the spendy 50 it seems strange too to have your primary zoom lens be pretty much the same thing. Having it smack in the middle is a couple steps either way.

That is purely for fun/art shots.

And low low light. The 85mm is way more at 1.2.

Ok, so you made me nervous. I slapped on the 24-70 and shot some lifesized cut outs in my store. It was pretty perfect.

I will continue the eval. Makin me nervous smalls.

Stop focusing on people, they are easy.

Do realize for them the difference between the 24 and 17 is 2 steps. For taking shots of stuff though a 17 makes it possible where you miss the shot with the 24.

I shoot 90% people, or animals.

But I do get your point.

The love for the 24-70 is leftover from FF where the 17-55 is about the same reach on a crop.

It's been pretty usefull for a work event.

If the tokina is around on Monday I'll probably look into it.

Fuck me!

I had an allergic reaction to some meds and I have welts all over, itch like a herpetic beaver, and my hands are so swollen it's almost impossible to use them at all.  I have to keep them moving because it's painful if I don't.  Dammit if I don't always have some stupid issue.

That sucks bad. Reactions to meds can be extremely dangerous.

Sitting in the emergency room now. I look funny. Swollen everywhere with hives.

I know that feeling very well. In my younger days I would break out in hives for days. It looked like I was beaten with a belt from face to feet.

Good luck Ryan.

CHeap & Wide

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/ele/4398434869.html

Only f4 but for wide that won't kill you.

My kit lens is 17 or 18mm and 3.5 at the low end.
I know but with what else you have you will never usr it

I was more saying that that a super wide lens like that might not be as good as a lens I own already.

That lens will KILL your kit lens. For a kit yours is sweet, but it sucks compared to real glass.

The Tamron isn't as sharp as the Canon/Tokina, but $300 talked down to $250 is rather free. I LOVE my Tokina 11-16. Definitely as sharp and clean as anything I've seen. On a Nikon it even works on full frames and I have a colleague who has taken some seriously stellar shots with it.

Sort of wastes the whole idea of the full, but makes it really wide and cropped/.

I'd sell the kit and keep either the 17-55 or 24-70

Also have an 18-270, but consider it near useless.
