Welcome to the IHoP v.2

So, I should be getting that Ipad mini from work.  I know they pass digital out via the lightning connector.  What I want to do is pull that digital signal and convert it to a digital coax since my HU has digital coax input.  I know about the Pure i20 dock which includes digital coax out, problem is I would really like to not spend $100 + the cost of a power supply + have to figure out where to mount and secure the docking station just for a digital signal.  I want to run digital so I don't have to deal with the low preamp voltage and HU doesn't have analog input I don't believe (would have to check again), I don't want to run an extra input to the MS8 or switch inputs via the MS8.  I want to keep the control at the HU and figure if I can do it digital, why the hell not?

What I would really like is something more simple and/or less expensive than the Pure i20.

Anybody have an idea of my options?

Is USB not an option?

If you're willing to tear apart the Pure dock and Macgyver together a cable, you shouldn't need the power supply.

I like this front bumper cover

2009-ENCO-Gladiator-Porsche-Cayenne-Turb

Smoother wheel flares and lower door molding would make me like a lot more of the kit.

I think I missed the last part of this page somehow.

That is fucking sexy.

Rims are terrible though

Yes. I agree. Fucking disgusting and take away from how it looks overall.

I blacked those out in my mind or else I could not have even seen the front end.

Maybe it is because I am used to it. I remember thinking the other way before, but my truck looks fucking meaty when you walk up to it where the CTT looks a bit more feminine.

I had missed this. Now that you say it, yes it is a bit feminine. All Porsches are bit if you ask me. Benz, well AMG, is definitely the antithesis of feminine.

It was in the garage wasn't it? How I didn't notice it more than just in passing astounds me. Especially being that I do not think I have ever seen one up close.

That shows how excited to get on the lake I was. Really one of the best afternoon's in a really underwhelming summer "off".

Good day for me as well. Have no idea how you missed the car though. You parked next to it.
I remember just noticing it. How I didn't go drool on it or hump it's leg is beyone me.

We had a trunkated time table though, and I was HOT from the ride down.

You guys working out all the tablet/car pc/audio/functions problems is great. I don't have to then!

Seriously I am surprised at what they can do.

I definitely feel the low voltage issues too. It is crazy that even some home theater receivers within the "premium" lines do not put out a nice strong high voltage.

In American vehicles/cars mileage is a moot point usually. Everything can and will break.

Same with germans just different costs. I would say less regular work by a long shot on the germans but a higher cost at the point it does need to be fixed.

Ummmm, no.

Really Seth? Even the cheep German cars I owned had less regular needs than the American counterparts.

I think it depends on if you mean regular maintenance or shit breaking regularly. More maintenance, less breaking.

Outside of normal maintenance items I've driven German iron nearly 300k with only a slave cylinder and a radiator separation. Total repair for both was around $1200. I can't think of anything else that has been a surprise. My Silverado on average spit more than that a year.

Work for a few hours then home to change the oil. Went over mileage more than I wanted to.

Then the transfer case fluid change. Oh joy.

1st time I've had to throw a spare on my car though.  Thankfully this car was "luxury" for it's day so the spare is a full sizer.

Maybe I should take this as an opportunity to throw some balling rims on it tongue.png

Don't forget to do block body lifts and not compensate in braking power for the massive increase in unsprung weight.

Should be fairly easy J.

Change the brakes, brake levers and cables on the bike. The upgrades are complete. I finally have great brakes :)

Now to start on the Jeep's brakes. In the meantime I shoved 2 thermal resistors in the intake, before and after the intercooler and I'm going to monitor temps to figure out the intercooler efficiency. Hopefully it's under 200F after the intercooler.

Just installed two of these in a motorcycle trailer. No pics though I will try and get some later.

I just found out the brake hoses for the Golf calipers have 1 foot of brake hard line connected to the rubber hose so they are pricey Doh.gif

After a bit of searching and it seems 2002 Saab 9-3 rear brake hoses fit the calipers and don't have hard lines.

Golf calipers, Mercedes rotors and Saab hoses. Yay for mixing parts and avoiding custom maintenance parts. I can re-drill brake rotors but I can't make a custom brake hoses.
