Went for a ride on the MTB competition track. Sticky mud everywhere, I could barely move around with my street slicks

 

But I did learn a few things: my brake levers are in the wrong position, my chain is a bit sloppy and even with knobby tires, I need to lose the fenders when riding off-road.

Biggest thing I learned is that cross-country biking is tons of fun. So I really need to get a set of wheels for such adventures.

Sean, buy a solid Ford pickup, lease a German hot rod, move on and be happy. If you leave the job yoh "suffer" with your pickem up until you find a new gig.

If you leave the current job and you are leasing the towing vehicle you will just need to buy a truck until you get a new gig. Prepair and save yourself the hassle.

That requires an investment on my part so it won't happen. Neither will two cars until I move. Has to be a single choice. Also eliminated anything that causes me to pay anything out of pocket but that is on principle

I can't afford not to buy a house. Every weekend for the past couple years I lose hours each Sunday to open houses. I need my time back. That trumps the car choice.

Drove the Escalade - hated it. Same with the F150 even already lowered so I crossed of the Expy/Navi. No full size Dodge. Germans are price prohibitive. No Korean solution. So yeah, I'm sick. Won't happen I am sure once I drive one, but I am exploring all options.

I love the navigator. I just spend too much time urban off roading for it to be my choice.

That thing can be tuned into a damn beast with not a lot of work.

The tundras/sequoias are fucking garbage. I had a 07. Gas pedal stuck within 500 miles. Needed a new trans after a seal blew. Rear end had to be replaced. Truck couldn't hold alignment. Had to replace tires after every 25k miles. Several places did alignments.

My dad had three. All had the same issues with not holding alignments.

I have a co worker that purchased hers in another state. She is on her third set of tires with only 60k miles

My aunt had the Lexus suv version and lemoned.

Everyone I know with Tundras love them and say they've been the best trucks they've owned. 

 

 

 

No issues besides two things

 

Rubber door seals on back tore after a hard freeze. Replaced under warranty.

 

Tires needed replaced around 25k. The stock tires were made of shit rubber. I also drive over pavement at 90+ mph in 100+ degree summers for over 100 miles, add in the back/side roads and driving off the beaten path on parts of base, and I wasn't surprised.

Unless they overhaul everything, I wouldnt buy one. A family member owns a '12 Navi and it is very underwhelming in every aspect for the $65k price tag on it.

It will either get the Coyote, or the all aluminum 5.4. Ford is switching to aluminum in many of the truck body panels for weight savings. The pickups are supposed to he 7-800 lbs. lighter. Last I read, it was the entire doghouse and bed on the pickups, so I would venture to say the Navi and Expo should save at least a couple hundred.
