My suspension is still fuxxored. I either bent the lower triple clamps, or fork legs, and is causing binding. angry2.gif

I wouldn't say counter productive as I am trying to lose weight and am doing so by reducing calories. Not saying I should be fasting all the time to reduce calories. Believe me that is not my plan. I just think that fasting on a whole is good for your body soul, and mind so I partake in it sometimes (many times when it's convenient).

I do feel that fasting has very good effects on you mentally as well. When you get into a rhythm of eating at the same time everyday your stomach gets hungry for no reason. I feel like fasting is a good way to break yourself of the physiological response. I still got hungry today at 1030 and noon. It's also a good way to break yourself from addictive eating habits and to realize what real hunger really is.

Anyways I'm not attempting a massive calorie reduction in an effort to quickly lose weight. It's just how the day ended up. Tomorrow is back to normal.

I hear ya. Earlier this month I worked on making my stall bars all day friday, didn't eat very much. Then on sat and sun I rode the dirt bike, and made some more stuff in the garage all the while not eating much. After those three days I noticed my abs were a bit more pronounced after losing a little bit of fat haha.

I won't hide the fact I think the fasting thingy is complete and total BS though.

A few studies have shown that training while in a fasted state rather than a fed state increases both glycogen storage and VO2Max.

In case you want to jog or cycle for hours on end, it is helpful.

Or any other endurance sport, I'm sure.

Although, I suppose it's helpful for anyone. Get up in the morning and run a few miles. Basic road work 101.

I don't doubt it, that is kind of what I was saying earlier about body being ready to absorb more.

It is all a moot point though. After several hours of a meal your body goes into a catabolic state. Choosing to use muscle stores for fuel and sending out a whole host of hormones that are beneficial towards protecting your body, not burning fat or building muscle.

Pretty common method.

The fact is just that if you want to be the most efficient, frequent small meals are the most important. Then making sure they are from whole foods centered around protein and vegetables. Adjusting that method short term for a short term goal is common in every sport. From body building to biking, to anything else. But on a day to day basis, your body will function best for athletic needs with many small meals a day.

IF works because it's convenient for people with low will power to stop making food the focus of your day. That is the magic trick. It also influences you to make better food choices naturally, and limits your caloric intake just by sheer time factors. I have no doubt it made you feel better in many ways Mike, but I doubt it was the actual fasting. More likely it's the fact you made a goal and achieved it. You are also seeing results. If you started taking a new placebo, and you started seeing results you would feel like a winner too. It wouldn't matter if the pill was making a change or not. You perceived change and are happy because of it. Secondly, you are eating less shit and more real food. That alone should make you feel better.

I'm not saying there isn't also some benefit to fasting. It just isn't the fastest way to get to your goal. That doesn't mean it doesn't work for you, and your needs. That also doesn't mean that the deprivation and caloric restriction doesn't tell your brain to kick in some endorphins to cope, thus making you feel good. If you crack your knuckles or see a chiropractor you get endorphins too. It doesn't necessarily mean it's the best answer to your problem. If you really want to see some amazing fat loss drink only protein shakes every couple hours with a little healthy fat for a couple days. You will loose a pants size in short order. Get that keytone kerb cycle working in your favor and you will be washing the ladies panties on your rippling muscles. Atkins proved you can eat like shit and lose weight. You could eat bacon for every meal and drop some fat. You will just probably feel like crap. But the mirror will be treating you well. The all protein plan doesn't work eternally though. It also will hinder your performance if you care about more than what you look like in the mirror.

All I am trying to say is that if you want the best possible "diet" for athletic needs are, look around at what exists in culture first and then science.

So, who has a good idea solution for a cheap signal generator for 50-350Hz sine wave to output into an amplifier without having to pull a computer in with the setup.

App for android phone? Though output level won't be very high.

Or download a set of tones, and put on ipod / mp3 player / phone.
