Learn to shoot with a narrow DOF.  Much better lesson.  But get your lens calibrated if there are some issues.

I need to challenge myself differently this year.

I shoot the 50mm, I shoot a lot of narrow DOF close ups of my daughter, which I have so much fun doing. I shoot 1.4-2.0 a lot because I love to shoot low light, no flash. I love the warmth of the photo.

I could add flash to the repertoire. I have a Canon EX4xx at my disposal.

I really want to add another focal length, but I bet the wife will be stuck on zoooooom. Maybe Sean's comment on shooting on either end will help.

Just spitballing, time to go read my daughter some books about becoming an engineer :):):)

You can zoom with the 50mm by moving forward, you can't make it wider as moving back is hard.  That being said if you go zoom it is a big hurdle as anything less than the 70-200 2.8 will drive you nuts.  Not counting of course a 200 prime but that is somewhat restrictive.

One flash is not much fun.... but you can get creative!

The 70-200 2.8 isII is the best lens made.  It will make you angry with other lenses, even other lenses at other focal lengths as to why none of them work as well or get as clean of an image.  It's gods hammer.

I still love my 50mm 1.2 though.

Those 2 could get me through 90% of my life.

Finally an SUV fast enough for Sean:  (oddly enough this car is from down the street from me)

I thought you were recently speaking positive words about their progression.

Yes, because I want HP.  Not because I believe it.

Ok, they are making huge headway but it is still a Chrysler which is why I don't already own an SRT.

Watched Strange Brew last night.  I kept waiting for it to get good.  WTF Jared?!  I will never get that time back.

Sorry mang. I can relate thought, is about how I felt about Super Bad and all of the Hangover movies.

Guess it's like Matt said and just comes from the nostalgia.  I can remember having to beg to rent movies like that or Porkies or Meatballs. Lol

Watched the trailer... looked like forest gump part two. Should be a good one to watch while I'm falling asleep.

I have also been to at least 3 movies in the past 20 years.  Ok, maybe that is an exaggeration by 1.

Elliptical in front of TV.

Movies sneak in behind the cooking show.

John Wick is on at least 4 times a month.
