It was a gun free zone. Though, at least in Texas, you are not supposed to carry if you are drinking.

The Miata has been at the painter for a week now. Just my luck, the hood flew open 500 yards from the painter's stop and got smashed. Replacement should be here tomorrow then the work can continue.

Very cool to watch the rebuild.  What else is hiding back in the garage?  What car is that off to the side?

How about Nokian zLine? I'm running them on the Jeep, quiet, sticky and not pricey.

But now I have to figure out if 16" wheels will clear my brakes, I want General Grabber AT2's (similar to the BFG AT) for winter and off-road use.

Nokian doesnt really sell here :(

Call me as lazy as you want, I wouldn't want to move that by shovel

That's not a metric tonne, is it ? I remember when I used to load 20+ metric tonnes in dump trucks with the backhoe and it was way more than that.

Not metric :)

When the hours get longer, the load increases, and the pay stays the same......

For me to re-read later. Particularly the first comment.

On the other hand, I read a lot of comments of people saying they have guns and if the bad guys come, pew-pew, no more bad guys. Where were all those people? Is that mentality not popular in Florida?

No trying to stir shit, just thinking out loud.

Really, it depends. Each state has their own gun laws. Each county/parish within a state can have their own gun laws. Cities/towns/villages within a county/parish can have their own laws.

The only common denominator in any of these mass shootings are that crazy people were involved. When you look at national crime numbers, in fact, they are statistical outliers. The overwhelming majority of homicides committed are done with handguns, not so-called "assault weapons", and there is usually only one or two fatalities.

In the state of Texas you are allowed to carry while drinking; you are not allowed to carry while intoxicated. However, it is illegal to have any firearm in an establishment which derive 51% of the their profits from the sale of alcohol, e.g, bars and nightclubs.

Nationwide, last year there was just as many fatalities from traffic accidents involving drunk driver(s) as there were homicides by firearms. Outside of magazines, specialty cable networks like Outdoor Channel, and the occasional sporting goods store inserts in the newspaper, I don't see any ads for firearms. Alcohol? Everywhere. Grocery stores, gas stations, billboards, radio commercials, television commercials. Hell, half the people depicted in the television show drink.

I carry almost every where. There are too many crazy people who want to be in the media, I choose not to be a victim should a situation arise.

The Senate has approved a defense budget that would also require women to register for the draft. The new rules would apply to any woman who turns 18 on or after January 1, 2018.

About damned time.

In the garage are the rest of the Miata parts, you can just spot the bumper. Plus some in the other garage. I have lots more pics and way more coming once I put it back together.

The car to the side is a 2002 Citroen Xsara, Vlad's old car which we call The French Love Machine, The Citroen, The xSSAra etc etc.

Soon to be walled with two Zcons and two Z1's :D

Oh, most definitely it's the crazy people involved. I'm not the one to blame the tool, it's just that with some many sane citizens owning guns it would make sense that somebody would stop him sooner.

After the disaster we had here, when a nighclub caught fire and 64 people died, biggest death toll since the revolution in 1988, my girlfriend's employer brought in an ex CIA of FBI guy who now holds lectures about safety during such events and he mentioned quite a few shootings with handguns involved, even one when a guy went to a company party and killed 7 out of over 200, since the rest managed to get out in time.

In PA our no guns allowed area's are Federal building, K-12 grade schools, and casinos. Each state has their own rules for gun carry.

At the office early, and having a little coffee and checking my science feed and two cool things:

1: A few people feel the Fermi Paradox is apparently aggressive on its timeline (time until we meet another race (aliens)) and it could be 1500 years away at least.

2: Another noise was picked up from a black hole at LIGO.  {My machines are cranking away on Einstein @ home to help this effort, others can help if they would like} ;)
