I am sitting here whatching a kitty toying with a groundhog and I am doing nothing about it...Am i wrong? She is going to kill it and i am doing nothing about it..just in their nature I guess ..what would you do?

A groundhog will kill a cat. That is a powerful little rat.

But if the cat is winning, let it kill the ground hog. I love shooting those rats. They can really fuck up deer, cattle, horses, and other similar animals.

Thinking it is hot tub time after the sore comment Seth.

Indeed. But admittedly I am getting a little tipsy right now. Hard rootbeer is fucking good!

Sounds good, what kind? I take my drink to the hot tub and try not to get too drunk.

Small Town Brewery's Not Your Father's Root Beer. It tastes like an A&W root beer float. I say float, because it has a fair vanilla taste to it. I can't detect any alcohol in it, but I have had a girl say she had a slight alcohol taste on the finish. It is so much like root beer that you even get the heavy gassy burps. It is retardedly good.

I can taste the alcohol on the finish as well. That ruins it for me as it leaves a bitter end; not what I want in Rootbeer. You can have the 4 that are left in my fridge.

I need these...

1. Western Electric 422A (early 50's grey plate and later 60s black plate)

900x900px-LL-b5217764_IMG_0961.jpegef3bba7d_IMG_0962.jpeg

This is Western Electric's version of the 5U4G, with slightly different specifications, it should be fully compatible with 5U4G amps (Stratus - maybe, Woo, Decware, etc.). The construction is quite interesting, having the same domino plates and overall build as the Tung Sol 5998 power tubes. Anyways, the sound? This is by far the best tube I have ever owned or heard. My reference tube. As with many of the rare holy grail super tubes out there, they are nearly perfect in every way. Hauntingly beautiful tone, lots of air, great layering, transparency above the rest, and just perfect extension in both the highs and lows, deep bass, palpable, lucid midrange, holographic 3D staging and imaging (like with the WA22 and Glenn OTL, the image is very life-like and out of head unreal good at times), amazing! Overall balance is great as its neither overly warm nor bright, transients and PRaT are as good as they get with tubes (like seriously, beautiful liquid transients!). Out of both tubes I have, I think they both sound pretty much identical, the older grey plate looks a little nicer and might sound a bit better, but they're pretty much the same tube. Price is generally high with singles being anywhere from $400 to 750$.

I think I am grabbing the Woo Audio WA6. I just wish I was willing to shell out the cash for these beauties!

I would love to try and build some tubes, someday.

I have a buddy who's dad was a TV and Radio repair man. His dad died ~25 years ago. He said he has a ton of tubes... 2-300. All tested and working 25 years ago. He said some are still brand new in unopened boxes, some are used, but all test good. He told me if I brought him a good cigar and a bottle of bourbon I could have them.

I am anxious to see what he has.

I think I may try to build if the score is good. I want to see what tubes I have to work with then start some schematic hunting.

My only concern is how will I make the chassis? I want anodized aluminum (black) with some wood accent plates. I am thinking a curly mahogany like my mains, or a crotch mahogany...

1btcrnr.jpg  cr_mahog_803-22.jpg

Well then you need to get him what he wants to play with those tubes. You never know what you will find with those oldies.

Certainly you have a local machine shop that can machine the bottom and anodize it.

That is what I am thinking too.

At some point I want to build my own armor and join the 501st legion. I just love what they do for people and feel being a servant at that level would be awesome.

Open Mic night at our weekly neighborhood bbq. I didn't realize, should have asked about songs earlier

Prince--Purple rain is usually a big hit at BBQ's

I asked for something with a real guitar part, that is uber easy.  I am a baritone btw.

Sean recommend me a good programming module for a stock 2010 5.3

Custom tune or don't bother.   Seriously.  The modules are all a joke.

I drink about a gallon of sparkling water a day.

The ONLY liquids I drink with any regularity are:

Cappuccino , Espresso, Beer, Wine, Sparkling Water

Sports drinks aren't exiled from the home, but the only reason they are bought is that they are portable. Rather rare though. They don't do anything good for you body.

I usually dont drink the fancy coffee much I do drink about 2 cups of black coffee in the mornings..what kind of beer?

lots of kinds. Depends on the food and weather. Have probably 20 different micro brews in the house atm

Like Sam Adam's?

Eeew.

Almost as undrinkable as budweiser.  The Sam Adam's seasonal Pilsener is mildly palatable on a 100deg day but otherwise their beer is pizzle.

I can't get the taste of alcohol at all. Maybe it is just because I tend to drink straight whiskeys and high gravity stouts. Try it with ice cream.

Our last good local machinist is nearly impossible to get into, and he is training his replacement. Everyone else local is a damn hack. I need to look into getting a mill and bits for my drill press.

Forgot about one other regular beverage in the house.  Smoothies.  I have a crapton of fruit in the chest freezer that gets blended up.  If you want a sports drink you can't get much better than that.

I am sure....if you like ice cream.  Not part of my diet, although I could deal with an ice cream drink once a year or so and be happy.  I'll remember that the next time my family gets an ice cream fancy since it does nothing for me.  Of course the last Alexander I had was probably 7 years ago, but more recent than my last root beer float, lol

Question for you Sean, or anyone else.

Any good corkscrews you'd recommend I can buy in town at probably Target or Bed Bath and Beyond?  I'm bartender tomorrow night and could be opening 40-50 bottles of wine for a guys wedding.

I've pulled my last 1000 or so corks with a Screwpull.

There are knock offs but I've never heard of one lasting.  This thing is bombproof and BY FAR the best opener I've ever used.  Takes me all of about 5 seconds to open a bottle.  I just pull the foil off by hand on 90% of them, if not I use the cutter.  Then two quick arm motions and BOOM

And your thing in the trash is one of those knock offs.  Just googled it, lol.

I am sure someplace in town has those too, I just wanted to be more specific than just a name.  The only other type that is budget and worth a shit are the standard waiter units.
