Black gets chrome. Nothing else.

I can get chrome, but I have a problem with chrome plated aluminum. Polished aluminum I have no problem with.

Other wise is was FULLY loaded which was really nice.

Weird thing is, I was ready to make a cash offer

NEVER buy a non-fully loaded used car.

And WOW, do you make decisions fast...

I buy them all the time. No issues with resale.

Paint and chrome are not on my list. All raw or polished. Not dealing with our salt and anything else.

We've been looking vehicles more than the last couple of days.

Pending a great test drive and accepting a well under market offer and making the wife happy it didn't seem like a bad deal to me.

We've decided to take off looking for vehicles until we get back from vacation. We have too much else going on before we head out.

If I didn't have the chrome, I'd do the machined for sure

Those are the same tires/wheel size for once as well.

Here's what my V8 controller looks like. Not done, but a teaser anyway.

sweet! look great. get to the steering wheel controls yet?
ha. That is fired up in a temporary manner. Have HP tuners on it and music.

gotcha. motivation to work on my car dropped off quite a bit. bluetooth remote will suffice for now.

Adrian, you are a machine.

I dunno, maybe I make poor choices that end up costing me work.

For some strange reason the driver's side caliper outside pistons were not pressing the pad right. I pushed them back in with the bleeder open, then started pumping the pedal and bled them a few times. I HOPE that gets the outside pistons working right and it did not work right because there was air in the caliper.

Before this operation the caliper seemed to flex, as if most of the braking force was on the inside pistons. Now it only seems to flex a tiny amount.

I can't imagine not having the calipers centered on the rotor would cause that. The outside pistons should just slide out until they hit the pad and presto, "self-centered"..

Saturday I changed the drive gear on the starter motor. 1 Jeep mechanic (friend who always helps me with parts) and 2 electricians said the drive gear is impossible to find. Found it! Changed it! Much easier to remove the starter motor in 70* weather compared to 0*.

Yes it is Adrian and your tools don't stick to your skin. smile.png

Back in winter I had gloves but my sleeves were up so that my hands fit between all the parts. Still MUCH easier than on the old Jeep. Never had to do it but I saw what was involved in a starter removal.

I have no fricking time to finish up the mounting panel in the dash :(

All the parts for the install are here: resistors for the otg + charge cable, miniDSP (although the i2s DAC is still only built on paper), phone, amps, speakers.

3 weeks and the bodywork guy hasn't done anything. I'm picking up the car today and probably taking it next week to the Subaru dealership. The guys there are really cool and said it will probably take them 3-4 days and cost about as much as the guy the car is at now. If the cash flows right, I could have it ready by July.
