Yea I was checking out the NY area and they are getting lots of snow.

Hear it is cold and windy.

No joke, this is from WKBW in Buffalo. The Southtowns are where I spent my teens, Cheektowaga/West Seneca area. They traditionally get more snow than the city and northtowns.

On the news this morning I saw someone that had built a beer shelf out of the snow wall outside his door

 

 

In my last 2 years there I rented one side of a duplex. My room was in the front of the apt, right over an "awning" over the front doors. I had a kick ass stereo, and a "big" tv. We would hang in my room smoking buds and basing coke and drinking beer from my shelf over the doors. Snow is an awesome chiller.

When I did my Dyno training in 97 I spent a couple days in Pheonix in August. It was over 120F... Fuck that shit, at least in that kind of snow you have the perfect cooler for your beer right outside your window.

 

 

Once you get acclimated it's not too bad. Last week we used some liquid nitrogen to "cool" some beer, ended up freezing everything and having to go buy more beer.

 

Of course liquid nitrogen is -320 Fahrenheit or better...Heat travels to colder temps VIA "heat removal" the colder the temp the more heat will be removed in time..Your beer did not stand a chance..Just a -130 degrees or so from absolute zero..

Ha. Our morning beers for highschool used to freeze. Unlike your slushee's though it just made drinking them faster for us. The booze would float to the top and the water freeze on the bottom. With liquid Nitrogen you could actually freeze the alcohol too.

Speaking of that for one of my majors (biochem) they require a senior thesis project, and I've been doing some computational work over the last six months for a research group (I'm a junior). Found out yesterday I have enough data already for a senior thesis!

Started putting the dog on arthritis treatment, not much help. A couple of days ago she started looking far worse, like she was fading away. Took her for serious investigations yesterday: collapsed lung, dislocated heart and cysts on her spleen. Doc said 2-3 weeks at most. This morning dad calls, she died overnight. It happened too fast, at least we tried all that we could

 

Oh no.  I am so sorry Adrian.  What was your pup's name?  She will be missed.

 

 

Her name was Laika, just like the first dog in space. It was a bit rougher for dad, today he's going to the local dog pound to adopt another dog.
