LOL, let's keep blaming Bush! I didn't realize Obama was a member here. This "recovery" has been the slowest in US economic history. Why? Obama. Increases in taxes for industry, increases in regulation in all industry, increases in government involvement in all industry, and basic increases of government oppression in all industry.

My point was don't forget why we were there in the first place. People like to bitch about the slow recovery just so they have a reason to bitch about Obama...but forget why we were even there in the first place.

Sorry, as far as the 3X the total disability recipients, I forgot to add the word "annual" into the growth figures. It doesn't change the fact that SSID is facing insolvency in 2 years, by most accounts. I am looking forward to additional taxes paid by me to shore that up!

People have been talking about SSI going dry for decades. Certainly Obama is not the only cause there. Was't the solution either, but most definitely not the only cause.

So you think that Obama's desire to drive up the minimum wage to $12 isn't going to affect the national average, or even the federal minimum wage? I had no idea you were so naive!

Quick google search I couldn't find a single reference to Obama endorsing federal min wage being raised to $12. I did see several articles about a REPUBLICAN proposing to raise California's min wage to $12, and some articles about Obama giving preferential treatment to federal contractors paying at least $10.10/hour. Another case of using made up statistics ?

Also, in your first post you were absolutely talking present tense. When I pointed out that the raise you were complaining about wasn't Obama's fault, now you are complaining about a future event that hasn't actually occurred yet. Makes sense, when you can't defend your complaint, just change the subject.

The complexity of these gadgets is really nominal with regards to repair needs and tooling requirements. Stop being a tool (sic).

but they aren't free, right? Which means they cost the consumer more, right? You were complaining about the cost of cars, right?

So those scanners you need to replace are completely independent of the complexity of the electronics system in the vehicle ? Because it would stand to reason that the computer systems in vehicles have become increasingly complex regardless of CAFE, and that the tools (scanner, as you specifically pointed out) necessary to interact with the ever more complex electrical/computer systems would likewise become more complex and expensive.

I mean, if it wasn't for CAFE manufacturer's NEVER EVER would have even switched to computer controlled cars that even needed scanners, right? Damn government !

To be honest I couldn't give two shits about Obama. Admittedly I probably lean more democrat on issues, but I'm far from an Obama supporter. I just get tired of listening to people bitch about him about shit that is either made up or not really his fault. It's just the en vogue thing to do if your a right winger...

So why are we there in the first place? We could go back to WWI when the national debt first occurred. A failure to recover from the economic crisis is not the fault of the previous administration. In fact, the previous admin had us in a much better place than the last couple years of the administration. What matter's is Obama's policies and the overall affect on the economy relative to the history of the US comparatively.

I'm sorry I left out 1 word about SSID. But that does not account for the demolition of said social program over the past 6 years. Although, IMO this is a worthless program anyways.

Nature has decided that natural selection is how a species continues to survive. As an atheist, agnostic, or whatever you are it shouldn't change the fact that the unable should not survive. IMO, your decision to adopt is really nothing more than a slap in the face to your belief or lack thereof. You are a walking case of irony. However, as a Christian, I believe that your adopted child did deserve the chance to live. You're welcome. But the reality is, that it is not society's responsibility to maintain those who are unwanted, to simply those who don't care to provide for themselves. So when you really think about it, you are a walking hypocrisy. I am certain you also collect government subsidies for your adopted child... Again, you're welcome. Those are my hard earned dollars that provide you with that money. I don't bitch, as your beautiful young lady deserves to live and I am willing to help her and others' who did not make the choices they are burdened with. My father didn't want me or my sister either, I am just lucky that my mother did not toss us aside. But she did not garner anything from the government except for some shitty government cheese 9which i LOVED)

The one that shocked me the most as no preparation for it in school was the centrifugal stiffening causing normal modes to switch places. Classical mechanics say no. Reality says yes. Guess who goes back and adds factors into classical mechanics to make them make sense. Aha.

Could argue temperature is an unknown in this regard and studying it alongside modal response would be useful.

And QM? :P

easier to get one dollar out of a million ppl, than a miilion out of one person. 100 dollars out a thousand...etc. Either way your making a mill.

I don't know how the fuck ppl complain about the recession. I have not missed a day of work in over 10 years and make a 100+ an hour.

100+ an hour? What exactly do you do?

There is a VERY simple reality. The least efficient form of business is government. Anything to make it bigger that is not an absolute necessity should be voted down. Difficulty we are having was clearly predicted by Marx. Whenever a society has too much input in what happens the majority will choose to do nothing feeling entitled to those that actually do the work. California was so jacked in this regard it led the world into the worst recession in modern day. Policies that support this behavior will continue to wreak havoc on our country and ruin the future for our children.

I don't know anyone interested in complex drivetrains and motors. No one. They want better ecology, not even economy.

And it's a lie. There is no savings of energy in an electric or hybrid vehicle. Zero energy savings. Most have a larger ecological impact than the drivetrains that run on liquid dinosaurs.

most don't care about energy savings...they want to pay less for their gas each month. More fuel economy means less out of pocket. That is as much a pressure on the auto makers as gov't standards. Net ecological cost means nothing...net out of pocket cost is important. I see it every single day, I make car loans for a living. People get rid of their old gas hogs for more fuel economy. Truck guys drive around in Aveo's and shit because it uses 1/2 the fuel. I see it, daily.

As for the comment about voting next week... Your comment about federal minimum wage has nothing to do with anything that Seth is talking about in regards to that vote. The 5th is not presidential and thus has less to do with federal, so the federal minimum wage is not a valid point. If you would like to introduce it as one, then Seth's story paints a much more grim future as the local increase is hurting those who work harder as described in his statement.

Then your point is that Seth's entire rant was meaningless..because the whole thing was a giant rant about left wing federal programs and specifically pointed at Obama. His "main point" question there at the end even specifically mentions Obama. He mentions federal programs several times, and specifically Obama throughout the post. If my response to his rant was irrelevant, then his ENTIRE rant was equally meaningless and maybe he should have left Obama and those federal programs you cite as meaningless OUT of his post. But he didn't, so fair game.

SSD increase in one president is still absurd. But that's not the point here. The point is it was loosened and shouldn't have been Obama isn't tightening things up so he is just as big of a schmuck as the other idiots.

If you are going to complain, don't make shit up. Don't bitch about SSDI tripling under Obama when it HASN't. That's what is absurd. People using bullshit statistics to try to validate their political views or to validate their dislike of some political party. The ONLY reason I even responded to that section was because his figure was a fucking LIE and WAY the hell off from the truth.

You're way too emotionally involved to have this conversation.

Seth has been here for years, and if you think his intentions are to specifically seek out manipulation and "fucking LIE" I lost a load of respect for you.

If his facts were wrong, he didn't use them knowing so. You should also know better that 2 people can look at the same raw data and come up with 2 different numerical values buy the end. Anyone who has taken statistics should know that the outlying data is always thrown out, and depending on who did the throwing, the data is skewed as such.

Attacking someone personally for their beliefs is a shifty trait. Maybe you didn't intend for it to come off that way, but you sure as hell went right to judging other people right away.

Yes it is Seth!

My area is filled with unemployed and welfare people mostly because they are lazy and know how to work the system. My taxes go up and they get cell phones, nice cars, and free repairs.

Makes me wonder why I work sometimes.

Yep! I get seriously pissed because 95% of my industry earns based on performance. We either get straight commission, flat rate (pay based on actual hours turned), percentage of total profit, etc. I see a ton of apprentices in my shop with no drive. I hear "I don't want to work hard", "This is harder work than I expected", "I didn't know you got paid like that", etc. The kids in this country are expecting everything to be handed to them... Fuck hard work, just give it to me because I deserve it!

Fucking losers.

There are energy savings, but most of those buying the hybrids are all about their impact on the environment. The truth is, a Prius... the bastion of green driving... has nearly 2.5X the carbon footprint of an H2, and 3X the total cost of ownership over the life of the vehicle.

As for the comment about voting next week... Your comment about federal minimum wage has nothing to do with anything that Seth is talking about in regards to that vote. The 5th is not presidential and thus has less to do with federal, so the federal minimum wage is not a valid point. Wow, someone who understands what this election is about. Leftists are trying to paint this as a presidential election. Interestingly most of the grey areas in the country are running away from Obama's policies, and saying this isn't about him or his policies... Obama hurt many Dems by stating this election is about him.

SSD increase in one president is still absurd. But that's not the point here. The point is it was loosened and shouldn't have been Obama isn't tightening things up so he is just as big of a schmuck as the other idiots.

Even more so with the annual growth of recipients and the aforementioned insolvency.

What frustrates me is most people see a difference. There isn't. On every major subject Obama and Dubbya voted the same.

They are both chickenshit fuckfaces. Bush was at least funny and could dodge a shoe. Obama is at least black and we'll spoken most of the time. But it's all arbitrary.

I don't need statistics to prove that neither pass the sniff test for making the country better.

What is the bullshit is that Romney or McCain may have had a positive impact, or been at least different. I didn't support either one of those schmucks either, but I'm fairly certain they would have been smarter than who is in office now and who preceded him.

GWB was just as liberal as Obama. He was a fucking disgrace to his party. While I follow more libertarian views, I am aware that throwing a vote that way is throwing a vote in the trash. We live in a 2 party society, and I need to pick my battles well. I am more of a social liberal, but I am a firm economic and political conservative (to the literal sense of the word conservative, not the Rush Limbaugh/GWB neo con liberal version of conservatism). I do believe the federal government is intended to deal with interstate commerce, international commerce, Immigration, and the military, and that is all. The complete overreach of today's federal gvt is stunning. Bush showed me he had zero conservative values when the Terry Schaivo incident occurred. What a fucking hypocrite!

With regards to "energy savings" I am more looking at total carbon footprint. The total energy(carbon footprint) spent over the life of a hybrid/all electric (at this time) is always greater than the kind that run on dinosaurs and nothing else.

If someone cares about gas savings, and keeping monthly costs down the hybrids are ever worse for most.....unless there are government subsidies. The high cost of the vehicles manufacturing means you can't make it for cheep. The extra maintenance, while not massive it sounds like from you Seth but here I only hear horror stories, is added into monthly out the door. Also, if you just wanted to spend the least in fuel and get a nice ride you can get a diesel golf and grab 50mpg real world driving.

Physics taught me a long time ago that every time you convert forms of energy you loose some to things you don't want. So taking gas, turning it into electric power and then turning that into motion will Never be as efficient as turning fuel into motion. It's not possible. All electric might get there, and hybrids might have some convenience, but it is impossible for it to be as efficient. That was my point.
