Fuck.  Gotta a pissed wife.  She obviously wants to go to the Stearns County Fair really bad.  Her whole family is there.  I absolutely HATE shit like fairs.  Full of fucking morons that I really have no desire to talk to and people performing stupid shit that no one should ever bother to watch.  Needless to say, she said she'd be okay with 2 hours so I laid out the day to where we could be there for 2 hours and she flipped.  2 meant 4.  Now she is "ok" without going as she doesn't want to deal with me there.

SUcks.  I haven't been home for a SINGLE Saturday this summer.  Guess that trend continues.  Made worse since the next 2 I am gone for as well.  BOOO

Gotta ask what kind of stupid shit do they put on there?

J

No different than going to any big festival or attraction that gathers a lot of people.  Akin to Disneyworld, State Fair, Amusement Park, Casino, blah, blah, blah.

I'd personally rather go get a toe tipper done by the Doc than go to any of those places.

So it's just hating crowds, lines, and high prices for meh at best food?

Now that I can understand. Hating rides, laughing at human stupidity, and seeing kids smile is always a good thing. Even if you want to trip half the little rat bastards anyways.

J

I don't hate crowds, actually rather like big cities.  I hate fucking idiots and that is what all those places have in common.  Generally speaking the shitbox of society enjoys that sort of thing.  I have no interest interacting with them.  As for laughing at stupidity, it is more like crying since it is so bad.  No interest in that either.

Food isn't expensive, but it isn't food either.

Never been on a ride that I find worth a shit either.  They just bore me.

I guess I would be an exception to the shitbox rule. I rather enjoy Disney World. Epcot for the food from around the world (which may not be accurate but is good), it's expensive for what it is, and the quality of certain options is just trash. As for the rides, some are boring as fuck, others are entertaining, all depends on your tastes.

J

Food at Epcot is horseshit and not representative of any culture they are claiming.  Not even close.

Just curious when the last time you were there was. I only ask as I have met some friends who are from Japan there to eat a teppan edo and according to them it was spot on accurate.

J

3 years ago.  If they think that is spot on the selection of restaurants in FL must be SERIOUSLY bad.

That and they are confused.  In Japan you will not find about half the menu and if it is anything like the rest of Epcot the quality is garbage.

I guess to be fair, generally speaking the food in FL hasn't been good to me anywhere.  Get South of the Carolina's and it is REALLY hard to find a restaurant worth going to.

So I wrapped my crappy old woodgrain panels in the Mark with some brushed steel vinyl.  That is some tedious damn work, but I think it looks better and it more fitting than 4 stupid panels with some wood slapped on.

What product did you use?  Looks way better.  The Esky needs some love!

I need to do the radio panel now.  I was hoping to get away without doing it, but it doesn't roll up into the top of the dash like I'd hoped.

That's actually te majority of the menu. They do some sushi, but not as much as the other items.

All depends on what you are looking for and where you go. For example, Tarpon Springs has a HUGE greek community, and tons of Greek resturants. The BBQ is pretty damn good, and fresh. Some of the steak places were great to me as well.

But much like cigars, alcohol, and women, taste is subjective.

J I read the menu before I posted. The few items that are Japanese aren't at all what I was referring to wanting to see.

And yes, subjective but it hasn't been for a lack of trying on my end. There are exceptions but they are few and far between.

Guess my friends are full of shit. Well fuck.

If you find yourself down here I will gladly take you (or you and your family) around to some of the favorite locals spots. Perhaps I can help you see more than a few down here.

Japanese get excited if there are ANY items that they see from home.  Menu's that are 10% filled with memory lane are even appreciated.

I'll give you a few hints on Japanese fare.  1) A California roll is named aptly 2) Steak varies from $30-$60/oz in Japan so anytime you see a concentrated beef dish with the word steak in it, well it isn't going to be found that way in Japan.  ie, a 10oz filet would easily be $300. 3) A Japanese meal will ALWAYS end in rice/rice noodles.  Almost like coffee to breakfast for us.

So then price in a Japenese resturant should reflect the prices seen in Japan for authentic food?

not at all what I said. Items that aren't priced reasonable in Japan won't hit menus in Japan.

Also strange imo it go to epcot to eat what is prevalent in every major city. If they had ethopian, Malaysian or something not so prevalent itd make way more sense. And the Moroccan restaurant there is complete dogshit. I ate about 10% of my entree and left

Case in point: my "standard issue" work pants are Wrangler Cowboy Cut jeans. OW MY BALLS.

Funny story. I went and tried on a pair of Cowboy Cuts over the weekend for shits and grins. HOLY SHIT ON A SHINGLE I CAN ACTUALLY FIT INTO COWBOY CUT WRANGLERS FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER. OMGWTF. Small victories.

Picked up my rental car today, a Nissan Versa.... I figured, okay rental car companies have nicer lines, so whatever. I get to the car and go to open the trunk, no trunk button on the keys. I open the back door to hang my clothes and there is nothing to hang them on. I jump in the front seat, move up the seat to where I can comfortably grab the steering wheel and my knees are in the dash. Nothing other than basic radio.

So I go back up to the desk and politely ask for a different vehicle. For $10 more a day I get a brand new Chevy Cruze with leather power seats, Bluetooth radio, push button unlock/start. The Cruze is turbocharged (though a small ass turbo and engine) has a sunroof and XM. Oh and it actually has a place to hold my clothes!

Who wouldn't do that? Hate that I had to pay more because I should have got something better to begin with, but when I'm driving 2 10+ hour trips I think a little extra comfort is worth it.
