IMO this whole religious freedom thing is out of control and bullshit. Your made up ideology should ALWAYS take a back seat to someone else's right to not be discriminated against BECAUSE OF your made up ideology.

I need to pull an L Ron Hubbard and make up my own religion so I can get all sorts of special treatment. Turn my house into our worship center so I don't have to pay property tax, etc

You may not like people hiding behind their religion, so how about just calling it their moral convictions? Does that change your opinion, or do you still feel that the government has a right to tell a business owner they HAVE to provide healthcare? IMO if someone owns a business they should be able to do whatever the fuck they want to. If I don't want to hire a Jew, or a woman, or a short person then who is to say that I should have to? If I don't want to serve someone because they are gay, then who's right is it to say that I have to? It is MY investment, MY time, MY love, MY vision that built the business. The owner of the business should be able to dictate the practices enforced within the realm of that business. If people don't like it they can just visit another establishment.

I fucking hate big, liberal government.

Couldn't agree more. It isn't the place of the business to provide contraception but the government/people. Don't see how this is a business issue and if the people decide it is better to make it easier for some of the reproducers to stop reproducing then definitely educate and provide. That is a social program I'd support. Forcing a business to do something is absurd, but so is allowing them to hide behind religious beliefs.

One thing is for sure, in general in this country the wrong people are reproducing. Actually worldwide, but nonetheless for the first time in history we may be starting de-evolution.

By hide in this case I mean manipulate. Equality should be just that.

I wasn't responding to healthcare, I was responded to hiring. And it's currently federal law that you can not discriminate based on age, sex, race/nationality, etc. And the ADA protects those with disabilities against certain types of discrimination. Every thing you just listed there (with the exception of gay, the topic of that article) is already a protected category in this country. If you don't like it, move somewhere else. No, I absolutely do not agree with you. The majority of the country disagrees with you based on the successful passage of such laws many decades ago to protect the country from such actions which have never been retracted or overturned since. The civil rights movement happened for a reason. It has nothing to do with "big government", it has to do with equal treatment of your fellow human beings and their natural moral right to the same opportunities as anyone else. It is the laws of this great country that afford you the ability to rather easily go start that business of yours that your vision created, the same laws you are bitching about. Your ability to open that business is allowed and protected by that big, liberal government you fucking hate so much. If you had it your way and civil rights didn't exist that big fucking government could just as easily pass laws or otherwise restrict your ability to start that dream business simply because of your race, nationality, gender, etc.

So you disagree with the entire civil rights movement and laws? You are essentially arguing for it's repeal. That is easily the most idiotic thing I have read in a very long time. LOL, go smoke some more drugs. Literally.

Unsure if this brisket came from a cow or a brontosaurus. Had to separate the flat from the point just to get it to fit on the Egg.

I don't feel that anyone should be told they have to do anything by the government with regards to how they run their business. It should be the right of the company, and it's owners to make decisions based on what they feel is best for their business model. The civil rights act was an important milestone, however extensions of the act seem intrusive to me. I do believe in equality, and I do believe that the moral culture of the country has evolved enough that the general populous will do what is right. If not because of moral convictions, then because it is more economically beneficial to the company to maintain the appearance of equality. Do you think that if Starbucks were to go all white American they would stay in business, or at least remain a financially viable corporation? Do you think that if they decided to hire all whites, yet serve minorities with "non-white" bathrooms out back that they would remain a "coffee powerhouse"?

I personally would not frequent, or in any way indulge a company that chose to discriminate. I think that the vast majority of Americans feel the same. So do we really have to implement more laws, and more regulations that cost the taxpayers and companies more money? Think of how much better this country would fair (economically) if this money, time, effort, and red tape did not exist.

I find it ironic that you feel that your beliefs and habits make you holier than me though. I appreciate the personal dig. That is, of course, key to a good debate. Grow up. Thankfully I don't give a shit about your selfish opinions of others or myself. I am, however, forced to chuckle at the irony of your discriminatory attitude of others while trying to defend personal and civil rights.

I just had some of my Dad's brisket. I was truly beef smoked candy (or whatever Matt called it before). It was stupid delicious.

The recipe goes something like this. Salt, Pepper, Smoke, Time, Rest.

I'll purchase one once I own a home. Right now the stainless and ceramic Weber works for my simple purposes.
