I have the bender and flare tool, but after doing the front brake lines I decided a 100 bucks for pre-bent fuel and rears was a good idea. Got everything ran and dual master cylinder installed!!

Now for the fun part...Bleeding these MF'ers.

That's not something I'd like to do. But I have a ditch and it makes working under a car easier :D

Rewiring an old car is an opportunity to remove a whole assorted mess of wiring which isn't used.

Granted there are less wires in the backhoe but it wasn't that difficult to fix and repair.

When I built my beetle I didn't have a wiring harness. Was going to buy one then realized that outside of the lights and ignition I wasn't using any of the wires in it. Built my own and it was WAY cleaner.

A ditch or a lift would of been stellar for the hard lines. At this point only have the e-brake cables and exhaust left to do. So hopefully once the car is driveable, I can borrow a lift for the rest.

Have been doing the under coating as I go. Rear axle will be pulled to freshen it up. REALLY want to drive it first, to decide if an gear change is in order.

I have rehabbed quite a few wiring harnesses and replaced a few also. This is where I shine as most cringe.

The whole 5 glass fuses in the original box are rusted in place. lol A 12 circuit blade style fuse box will be a nice upgrade.

Fuck VW Beetles. Thought building one would be fun..... ONCE.

Beetles are SUPER easy to build. Easiest car ever IMO

Took me about 20min to yank the motor, but it did require a friend to lift the car over it.

Gramdpa is stoked as he is the one that bought the car off the showroom 50 years ago for his wife. The maiden voyage will most likely be to Twin Falls Idaho to show him the ride.

Awesome!

So I called the pharmacy to ask how long the sleepy and shit "flu like symptoms" will last.

A month.

:(

Upside? My skin is clearing up already. Some outside time and the meds are doing magic. I can only hope it's happening in my joints too.

Took a handful of Sudafed and have a couple energy drinks on and I'm a bit less sleepy. 10 hours of sleep and you think I would be awesome right? At least it's not the painful worn out feeling when I'm having a flare up.

I can feel my overall inflammation going down. For lack of a better word, my body is more peaceful. I''ve been more active, but when I do sit, I feel I can get up and move a bit easier. I can't tell if my joints actually feel better though as one of the "flu like symptoms" is joint pain.

I cannot eat big meals though. For right now it's like a biological lap band. Not entirely bad. Loss of appetite scares me, but this is more like, loss of ability to eat too much. What is annoying is my CONSTANT craving for candy or ice creme. I could eat ice creme for every meal. I do like ice creme, but not like this. And I have never been someone to crave candy, but I sure do the last 3 days.

I'm also quite dry. I think I'm pissing out a lot of water that has been retained, and it's drying me out. Water tastes gross unless it's ice cold though. Even sparkling. And I cannot drink enough. Makes me feel ill.

Been supplementing with sugar free Gatorade, juice mixed with bubble water, and fruit essence flavored sparkling water. It's helped but I'm forcing it down.

Try pedialyte? Shit is absorbed quickly, and kids when sick use it as well as adults with hangovers.

Don't do cherry tho. The red can make you think you are puking blood if it comes up.

I might try some.

Since I'm relatively inactive I try to stay away from sugar to keep my diabetes in check. Maybe mix it with water to stretch it further.

Maybe just buy some banana bags and water bags from a medical supply dealer. Why drink when you can IV?

Good points, they do make a sugar free version as well.

Also good after going on a bender

Crap, hope the month goes fast.

This EXACT second, I feel great. But I'm high on generic Sudafed a bit of Tylenol for this ongoing headache and a pretty (mild for me) amount of caffeine.

Don't be sorry. If this shit is working I will be exceptionally healthy soon.

I was taking 2 Tylenol every 5 hours, 2 asprin and 2 ibuprofen with my Tylenol in the AM, 4 ibuprofen in the afternoon then, then 2 Aleve at night. On top of 3-6 large coffee drinks or energy drinks just to get by. Vicoden did nothing but get me high, and being high and hurting sucks unless it's high to help me sleep. Vicoden wakes me up though. I even had a narcolepsy drug to wake me up, and tried wellbutrin too.

Then I moved onto Tylenol and Tramadol in the AM with some aspirin or Ibuprofen, then Aleve at night and a second dose of tramadol in the afternoon/evening if it was bad, and cyclobenzeprine 2-3 times a week to sleep. And of course tons of caffeine and OTC stimulants.

This is the least pain I have been in. And I'm off my BP and diabetes meds.

I probably shouldn't be off the diabetes meds but my BG is the same on or off. Those meds make me even more tired, so I stopped so I could get exercise in.

Thanks for all the well wishes guys.

This drug is supposed to be magic.

Should be at $2500 a pop though. 4 shots a month ATM and maybe taper down/off if I respond as hoped/expected.

Well here is where I stop until Chalk Elec releases their screen in a week or two.

My options are:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=201114112102&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123

...which is slightly shorter (6mm) than this which is currently worst case:

Just a 10 minute mock up to see how things would lay up. The wood fixture is just a copy of the stock radio bezel so I could see if I could use the stock mounts and cut nothing. Unless the display is thick, it looks like a win. The only weird part will be that the lower portion will have a bezel on the screen and the upper tucked right into the factory cover but there just isn't 4:3 screen with a capacitive panel and until that occurs this will have to do. The outline on the cardboard shows the bezel versus the screen itself.
