Copper in its natty state is looking at what a blow job feels like.

Just awesome. That blue patina tho!

Blah blah blah doesn't matter just trying to snag your attention Neal.

Neal I know you know metal, so how do I make this http://www.ebay.com/itm/45mm-Copper-Long-Neck-Drip-Tip-for-Vivi-Nova-510-EGO-Atomizer-/380845652670?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item58ac2b7abe look like the Copper above?

It could be done on a lathe, you would just need to be careful. I would start at the deepest cut and work my way out to the end. then just use emery closth to smooth out and use metal aging cream.

Back in 2000 I helped them redisign their high pressure recirculating system on their ATS melters and I believe they still use it.

My damn hands don't want to work and ach today. Spent 10 hours rebuilding a vector glue head and it sucked!

I'm so sorry and know that feeling way too well.

Thank you Matt.

Some jobs have way too many little parts that have such a tight tolerance to contain the pressure and meter to persision and it seems I am the go to guy.

Why would you want to put a lot of time into something you can buy for $10-$15?

Because the mod definitely doesn't cost 10-15. I got to make the 12 dollar part match the $200 part.

Unless, you could fabricate that tip yourself out of pure copper... aged.... for a reasonable price. I could always mail it to you to copy.

I thought they were that price based on the ebay price. How much do they cost?

Guess that answers my question. $200 for that piece, is that retail or a deal?

Neal,

He is trying to match that eBay price to another larger piece. He is hoping to get a similar finish on both.

I know right?

You would have the ONLY one. To get blue patina it's a bit more involved than just vinegar and table salt, but definitely doable.

Then lacquer the thing and be the baddest son of a bitch in town.

Ok sometimes things go right over my head. I am sure it could be made, but dimensions would be a must.

The tip is a small 45mm high piece of copper plated aluminum I'm sure. It's not going to be solid. My best-case-scenario would be someone being able to fabricate the $12 tip out of solid copper, and blue patina it.

Edit - And fuck you Matt for giving me another involved and spendy project to work on. LOL. My wife's going to be pissed.

Edit x2 - Neal I ordered the $12 cheapie, so if it is possible to do and I can afford it, I can send it to you to "clone" as it's known in the business.

Can you get me a drawing and I can see if I can make something out of aluminum on our lathe. Something that small might be a bit of a challange on our large equipment.

I think CA. It is only a $8k service so I don't really pay much attention. My role forces me to know about the big ones though

Not sure I know anybody out there. Nordson Japan is a cool place or atleast it was in 1999.

Did volume work today. 5x12's instead of the usual 5x5's. My lungs are trashed.

I dunno what you mean by a drawing. All I've got is a picture. Should have one in my possession in about a week.

@Seth, I wanna do the blue Patina now, out of solid copper.
