And the cheap aspect is bullshit too. Not sure why you are all so confused. Boneless, skinless, useless breasts are $6-8/lb. I bought nice Ribeye's two days ago for $5.99/lb. Raised in a much better environment and not pumped full of fucking hormones either. Actually has a little healthy fat instead of none as well.

I usually pay $3 a pound for breasts at Costco in the vac bag. Just sayin. But yes I agree, it isn't cheap or healthy.
I won't eat ANY meat in a bag. PUKE

How do you buy any thing from Costco? Brisket, ribs, chicken, everything is cryovac

Doesn't matter what or where you buy it. At some point in the chain it has been given GMO some type of artificial fertilizer. If it's grain fed it has been given a fish based emulsifier to limit food intake. It's it 100 percent organic you can bet the organic fertilizer that was used was covered in salmonella or ecoli. And if it's been purchased in a store it's been through several heat and cooling cycles before it hits your shopping cart.

I agree with your statement Q but heritage breed anything, aka less mass farmed food fastest better and has more nutrition in general.

I only see chicken breasts as protein and nothing else. Not healthy, just protein filler.

Not completely true as I have access to farms.

So do I on my own property. It doesn't mean it's more or less healthy especially if it's a smaller farm that outsources their feed. If it's in pellet form it's been made from spoiled or sample grade grain. It's not profitable to make it from anything else. Even if they have been fed sillage the mycotoxin content is gonna be high. The commodities industry is a business even if it's farmer joe raising a few heffers and steers. Just like everything else in the US people aren't willing to pay premiums so something somewhere in the chain is going to be "unhealthy".

We have real soil here. Farm is completely self sufficient. No purchased feed.

dumb cooking question.. anyone have a good tomato soup recipe?

Didn't know people used recipes for soup tongue.png

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/tyler-florence/roasted-tomato-soup-recipe.html

*I didn't read any instructions on that recipe but the ingredients are fine.

Do you have a good immersion blender or a real blender? If not, you won't be making tomato soup that makes you go, Ahhhh.

i'll get a blender if it means good soup.

Puree and simmer the 'mato's 'til it thicken's up OR add some rue. Season as desired. Enjoy!  smile.png

Had two different out of stater's come in the shop yesterday looking for the recreational MJ store. Its crazy, they are charging 65+tax for an eighth.

I read an article that said average legal prices in WA and CO are at least double, and in some cases up to quadruple, the price of illegal due to overwhelming demand. Crazy shit.

There is NO shortage of herb. There are more MMJ dispensary's than liquor stores. The two I passed on the way to work this morning has $135 oz.  But there is only a handful of recreational shops in the state presently. It is a bubble.

The revenue generated is insane as it employs many trade's. From the building owners to the sparky's and plumbers setting up the OSG's (off site grow).
