I seriously hate looking for a job, been in California for about a month now, 3 interviews and a fourth one next week... Still no luck yet.

California blows donkey dick. Think the US would be better if it was swallowed by the ocean
Completely agree!
I'm loving the area my wife and I moved to. Beautiful, great weather 65-70 everyday. Weekly huge farmers market with all the local produce, best strawberries, grapes, artichokes, etc all produced about 10 mi away.

But seemingly hard to find a job or I'm trying hard enough. I wish I was able to do something with aircrafts but my options are fairly limited to one air port here.

That airport is teeny too.  Flown out of it a couple times.

Everyone in Cali claims the weather is great and then does nothing in it.  Locals anyway.  Then it is full of Californians too.  I am SUPER glad I didn't just come back from asia and land in Cali, I'd puke.  The midwest is bad enough compared to Singapore/Japan, but it is MILES and MILES ahead of CA.

Yeah I can see that, I'm just loving the fact its nice out everyday very little rain, and tons of out doors stuff to do around here. Coming from MO where its snowy and cold right now, I can't complain about lows of 50's, lol

so who purchased the ps4?

I refuse to purchase Sony's initial console launches. I will wait 6 months to a year for them to iron out the bugs that will undoubtedly plague the PS4.

Father in law is on town for the night. Asked me to grab some scotch/whiskey on the way home. I've never had scotch before but I am a fan of whiskey. He told me to grab Buchanan's master. Anybody else drink this stuff or should scotch not be blended like this?

For Scotch, single malt is key. Blended is a no-no.

and FWIW, it is no secret I am a huge fan of whiskeys. Irish, Tennessee, Bourbon... but I am not a Scotch man by any means.

I'll try anything. But honestly, I have never really had a Scotch that made me think that I couldn't live without a bottle in my cabinet. I would never spend $500 on a bottle of it.

I have found there is a massive law of diminishing returns with alcohol. I have had some Pappy 23, which cost as much for a shot as a bottle of Double Oaked, and while it was nice I would rather have had the bottle of Double Oaked. Was it better then the Woodford? Oh yeah. It is almost like a desert whiskey. If it were on the shelf for $60 next to the Double Oaked (also $60) would I buy the Pappy? Sure. Would I buy it if the Pappy were $100? I might just stick with the Woodford. The Pappy retails for ~$600 a bottle. I'll buy 10 bottles of DO instead...

Myself nah, she didn't hit my car very hard so I didn't have any whiplash or anything. Surprisingly it smashed her car pretty though.

Some of the PS4s people are getting are "broken" straight out of the box. Some issues with metal tab blocking part of hdmi port and faulty firmware. Sony has said it's an isolated incident, but it appears to be a bit bigger than what they're leading on.

I'll probably order one in a few months once the issues are solved.

Went to farmer's markets in Singapore, China, & Malaysia in the past two weeks. Some of the best people watching in the world is always at markets.

You couldn't stop me from taking pictures. I would spend dozens of hours filling up cards.
Hard to see anything with all the people

Stefan, speaking of pictures, I found the most amazing article arguing about why people should use JPEG not RAW. It's an older article and I'm not sure all of it is true but some of the pragmatic perspectives were awesome. I'll post it when I get a chance.

Just hopped on for a second to rest the feet. Making a rib roast, and reorganizing the refrigerator.

:-)

RAW makes sense to me when you're not taking a lot of photos, but once you have a lot than I doubt the user is going to edit each and every one and then convert it to jpg/whatever for end viewing.

IE: If I'm shooting like five photos than I shoot in tiff (sometimes raw), but if I'm traveling or doing something where I take 50, 100, etc photos then I'm not going to go home and edit everyone so raw makes no sense. Plus I can still edit tiff or even jpg enough for what I need without trashing the photo.

If I had something important to shoot where I didn't get any second chances then perhaps I'd use raw just to cover my ass (because I'm by no means a photographer), but everything I've taken shots of I've been able to dial in the settings on the camera and have it come out well enough. So if someone was still learning their way around photography and taking photos that were important (which that alone is somewhat scary) than I could see raw making more sense, or perhaps if the environment isn't well lit than the raw would be more forgiving.

At least that's my view. What ever works for people, works for people. tongue.png

Buy lightroom and batch process and you'll never care what it was shot in first. Btw, DNG raw files can be displayed in windows so no need to convert although I'd view all my pics in lightroom anyway.

I have been screwed by buying Sony's initial launch too many times. I am not surprised at all about the issues. I love their platforms, but I am not going to get fucked again. They usually get their issues fixed by the "slimline" release. My PS3 slimline is one of the original slims, and it still works.

I've had to turn the heat on the past few nights for the kids. Can't put a blanket on the baby yet so had to make his room warmer.

I don't particular care for alcahol an personally think it tastes like hot arseho but it is aged 85 years and is supposed to be the premier Scottish scotch whiskey. It has an extremely deep oak flavor. Extremely smooth but not my cup of tea by any means. I like girly drinks with little umbrellas

Their statement was about .4% so a really small amount. Microsoft screwed the pooch last time with the red ring of death.

The lack of launch titles is the worst part.

I've never been into the newer consoles. If they came out with some games like the old Mario's or Zelda that took 6 months to complete I'd be more interested to purchase. Why would I want to spend 60 bucks on halo when I can download bejeweled on my phone for free.

The Tahoe I'm looking at has the ignition issue. Is it's an easy fix? Just unbolt out in a new ignition and reprogram a new key or is it a nightmare. Remember I've installed maybe 2,000 remote starts so I know my way around a Chevy ignition harness. I haven't even looked at it. It may even bee a loose wire.
