I usually have around 5 tabs open at a time whether on mobile or my laptop. I like the tabs

14 tabs open right now in the main browser window, 3 other browsers open with 1-3 tabs each.

And how the hell do you know which one to go to where?  Without tabs I get a list.  Uber easy.

I have concluded a few things after trying Chrome:1. It sucks with a lot of tabs open, compared to Opera2. It's slower than Opera in some aspects3. I much prefer Opera's control scheme (how ctrl+tab works, how to switch between adjacent tabs, mouse gestures)4. SSA looks crowded with all the images loaded. So I'll just stick to quoting people whenever I hear about a picture and keep using Opera. For me Chrome is better only on Facebook and Yahoo Mail

I fucking hate tabs.  Why did anyone ever think they were a good idea.  Someone without a widescreen obviously.

I feel the exact opposite.

Seriously?  Why are they advantageous?  When you don't use them you can have a full list of what is open and click on anything, alt-tab/mouse to whatever you want instantly.  With tabs you have to sort through all the shit.

You must have a smaller screen, or, no that's it, you must have a smaller screen.

I opened 14 tabs and though I can't read the full title of each tab, I can read enough to know what each tab is. Plus I can have two windows open with multiple tabs in each pertaining to a group of interest, ie: vomit porn, and job applications, and I rarely mix the two!

Or say you post in the Ihop about some fancy word I've never heard before. I can hit crtl-t for new tab, search the word, get the definition, hit crtl-w to close the tab and go back to the ihop.

Without tabs I don't know how the world could exist.

Or if I visit the main SSA page and see three new topics/threads I'm interested in posting in and pissing people off, I can hold crtl and click the three links to open them all in new tabs. Read through each topic and spread my meaningless wisdom and then crtl-W to gtfo.

Holding Ctrl+Tab shows me a list, just like Alt+Tab.

I have shoes on the way. Kind of excited. One of the pair are cordovan wing tips. First for both.

The other are much more normal, and both should be good for everyday wear.

Roommate found the coolest cufflinks. They were coins from the East India Trading company minted in the mid 1700's. How cool is that? It was hard to not buy a pair for myself.

I stopped by 3 made to measure shops. One was Brooks Brothers. I was suprised at what I saw. Most friendly and eager to please clothier I have ever met. Makes an hour apt with you, asks you a bunch of questions to find out what you want from your shirt and walks you through it. Hieme's was a tiny little shop that was cool as all heck, just not sure about the skills. The last stop was an itty bitty place called John's Tayloring. Famous in St Paul. Friendly guy with a thick accent who said he could have me measured in 5 min.

Brooks Brothers was by far the cheepest, especially when buying multiple shirts. All of them claim to have the work done here in the US....

Anyone here buy anything from Brooks Brothers?

I just picked up a shirt, a sport coat and some pants today. ROFL. Of course, you will cry when you hear what I paid.
$1,600 is my guess. Or you really went wild and had someone measure you up something wild. Your there too short of a time for a bespoke outfit.....

Did you bump into a tailor from Zegna on retreat and buy the whole hog?

Ha, try less than $300 for all of it. Actually got a tie too. Tailors are CHEAP here.
Cheep labor in SE Asia.... You must be drunk.

:-D

But I had a 50/50 chance that it went the otherway. Some Italian sultan of suits and some other execs pop some insanely expensive champagne or equally absurd Japanese whiskey and next thing you know, you come out of the black out and have 8 yards of super 200+ and half a lining pinned up around you.

It's completely legitimate sounding comming from you.

Former co-workers are going on a hiking trip close-by on the same day I have to help dad slaughter a pig sad.png

Thinking about helping as much as possible, jump on a train, with the bike, ride to the village closest to the trail start and hike from there. From the train station the whole route is 14 miles long, out of which 10 are doable by bike. Would be a tough trip to do alone since I can't join the others early morning. And there's the risk of hiking in the dark if I'm not fast enough.

People in that village should be friendly, so I have a place to leave my bike safely. I've done the whole route 2 years ago and an adventure would suit me just fine right now. If only I can find a train at the right time.

Whenever anyone wants others to do their work, they call upon their altruism. 'Never mind your own needs', they say, 'think of the needs of...' whoever. The state, the poor, the army, of the king, of God. How many catastrophes were launched with the words: 'Think of yourself'? It's the King and Country crowd who light the torch of destruction. It is this great inversion - this ancient lie - which has chained humanity to an endless cycle of guilt and failure.

Also thanks stefan for posting the discount. Wasn't on much yesterday. Had a long Veteran's day.

J

Thanks for your service, brother.
This too.

I'm a self absorbed fuckface. Thank you J.

Your service is a huge deal for all of us. Anyone in the service here that I don't remember.... Thank you so much.

your not the only one! I thank all of you guys who have served!

Neither of you are. While I know I feel humbled to be thanked (as I am sure Julian does as well), I am honored to have served and could not of done it if it were not for the men and women who came before me.

J

I didn't know Julian served... Thanks to Julian for his service as well.

Thanks man I surly so appreciate it!

OMG this is the best thing ever

As a former DJ I hate how most electronic dance music is all about the drop now. To make fun of it, I set out to produce the worst drops of all time. Enjoy.

Reminds me of when my cat got it's head stuck in a bag. It bolted out the door, tried to go under the gate, I heard a big "bang!" and she turned around confused.

That sounds like a good homemade bean chili with apple cider.
