Bought GTA V yesterday. Graphics are better and the world is big, but driving is fucking horrible. Why did they decide to change some of the controlls? And WTF is with the aliens? I don't know... at this point I am pretty disappointed.

The alien thing has been just funny to me. I haven't played more than a couple hours. Work is killing me.

it opens up a bit when the heists start. if you're not enjoying some of the side mission stick with the main story line. you can also avoid some driving by calling a taxi.

I started the first heist already. I am doing the preparations now.

Yes pectin aka fiber aka celulose aka wood is where methanol comes from.

What other fruits make for tasty spirits? I'm thinking of making apple cider and applejack first. Can plums work, or too tart?

Plums are great in white. Persimmons are commonly used in the SE.

if you are going to do any fermenting get a selection of crosby and baker chems and additives.  I like lalvin yeast.  Particularly the EC-1118 due to its high alcohol tolerance

Although I also think it's about time I just get one nice car to drive year round.

Just fucking boost the Lincoln
That just compounds the problem.
Just because other upgrades are required doesn't make it a problem.
I'd love to hear the logic on this one.
That's a get to, not a have to.

Need a leaf blower. Sean didn't you go through some mess.

I'm not gonna rake this bitch again. I don't know if it's cheeper to have a service and just play catch up with the oaks that don't drop until February.

Check Craigslist for lawn vacs.  Cheap and easy way to do leaves unless you have a riding mower in which case you can mulch them to death.

Mulching the oak leaves has destroyed the grass. Oak leaves apparently kill grass unless you treat it after mulching. Kind of like pine needles.

I bought a Shindaiwa. Biggest 2 stroke available.

Blowers only blow. If you don't have a blowing location I might do it differently.

I mulched them at my old house for years, and we had some big ass old oaks.  Never had an issue.  Very weird.

It's just way way too much for the lawn to absorb. I have 4 big oaks in my front yard. They can dump 1-2inches of leaves in a day for 3-4 days. It ssuffocates mechanically, and if it rains it will leach a fuck ton of tannin.

I'm going to turn it into a shade and acid friendly garden and let the leaves work like mulch, but it will still need some raking.

The first year when I was extremely diligent it took 5 trips of a tarp loaded with so many leaves it took 2 people to pull. Just the front and side of my yard.

Thanks for the link. I will see if the logistics would work for that. Shredding would definitely help start mulch must faster!

I've made it from just about everything. It'll loose its tartness. Your best bet is to boil whatever you use to increase flavor.

Banana is about the best tasting. People like it more by a long shot.

Hmm, I want to taste liquor made from bananas

Plum brandy, YUM

Can't wait for the next 2-day SPL competition, we always have a small party the night between and the plum brandy (or firewater) is plentiful. Last time I got hammered on that stuff.
