Weigh it with spring and without, that will give you a differential which should get you close. At least you know how much the spring you have alleviates for weight. If they were all the same length them it'd just he a hooke s law question

If it were free sweet

Not free, but inexpensive.

I wouldn't pay any extra for the name outside of reselling it. Amp is an amp basically and they over price the shit out of theirs

It would be considerably less than anything remotely in the power range.

Thinking of doing something like below.  I would only do one 12 or 15 sealed with plexi on the back of the box.

Or I'm a dealer.

Why not just use stronger springs?

That's my problem.....I don't know what force I need to be able to hold up the trunk lid but isn't so strong that closing the trunk is difficult or that whips the trunk open.

Clearly 2x 60lb gas spring wasn't enough. I could easily step to 2x 120lb or anywhere in between, but I want to get "enough" with going overboard on force and have it so strong my wife can't close the trunk.

you could measure resistance with a spring scale similar to a scale for weighing a deer.  The is actually the same method I measure Cms by using calibrated spring scales and a jig.  But autozone has a 7 day retrun polocy why not just buy some and if it dont work just return them

That is some tight work, not ultra keen on the grills but the workmanship is nice.

I was picturing using my Muskie scale in my rec'd above, but same thought smile.png

Or just go there and keep trying until you get the right size. Regrettably may be the fastest solution

CM10.1 again being installed, this time with GAPPS and an effective unlock root. Last time I couldn't manually get it into boot loader which to me is a bad sign and starting flawed is not so good
