This untrue about non ground beans. Beans have a harvest season just like any other crop. There aren't many countries that have harvest avaliable from Feb to end of May. Of corse this verses by a few weeks depending in yearly seas only changes but most beans in the US are at least 6 months old before they reach the consumer.

Umm, you forgot the step that creates the flavor and the situation. Beans are roasted. Green beans have an extremely long shelf life, once roasted it's days.

Yes, I buy mine green for this reason and yes I've done blind testing and it is a HOLY FUCKING SHIT I can't believe the difference reaction.

Stale coffee is fucking awful.

It's enough to where if I've ground more than 10 minutes before the grounds go into the trash. Just not worth swallowing shit when it can be heavenly.

It is optimum about 3 days after roast. By day 8 I need to adjust the grind, by 2 weeks it is hard to get the grind right and at 3 weeks you absolutely cannot extract goodness out of the beans anymore.

I am also constantly amazed at the lack of home etc training in this country'. Our school system does not prepare us for life at all :(

Nespresso pods do a pretty good fuckin job IMHO.

only pod system that brews anything worth drinking imo,. Pods have the advantage of having the air vacuumed out greatly extending the shelf life. Even though my shit only last a week or two I vac seal it as well

I've never much cared for coffee

Me either. But when you get older and work graveyard shift like me, you learn to depend on it ...

Its not if I like it or not, it's trying to keep myself awake at night ...

LoL @ Sean's way.

The best part about "his way", is he is standing on the shoulders of other guys who did hard work. It also looks like the hard way. Like most things, if you spend a lot of time and effort up front, you end up with less effort in the end.

That is tough. And one of the reasons I like cold press. I cannot drink hot coffee on the run all day. I will sweat too much. And espresso makes me sit and enjoy, so I cannot have that all day.

Although I am thinking about bringing a machine to work. My Nespresso machine would rock it out at work. And maybe catpture some guests.

Less effort is buying Folgers Black Silk at Target and pouring the water into my Bunn. I love coffee (particularly Cappuccino), but honestly it isn't worth it to me to work hard for it. Folgers and my Nespresso work well (and simply) for me.

They keep the coffee stocked at the office ... I just use what they have there, not sure what brand it is, as long as it's strong !!!

Doesn't the cheep stuff hurt your stomach?

I must be a bitch. If I drink shitty work coffee or things like Folgers my stomach cramps or I have to add a pile of cream.

I'm not sure of our company coffee is "cheap" or not but works I guess ...

... And I am very guilty of adding my sugar and creamer to the coffee !!! No way I can drink Black coffee ...

I drink black cold press all the time, and espresso.

As for cheep I kind of meant 98% of drip coffee to be cheep.

I drink it when I go out to a diner for breakfast, but that is about it.

Wow that's cool. I'm guessing that is was about 17 or 18 years ago for my visit to Italy.

And about all I seen there was pasta and pizza ... and some VERY expensive beer

Didn't drink coffee back then.

No way I can drink super shitty Black coffee ...

Fixored. Definitely a sign of shitty coffee when it tastes bad black. Tell tale sign of stale beans.

I really couldn't believe how awful the food was...of course the meals you could have IF you paid for them were great, but dropping $200 for a meal on non-spectular food pisses me off.

And Randal a 3er can have as much balls as a 5"er, just won't extend is deep moving more of the midbass range to another driver. It will do wonders for your imaging and FR, but if you are stuck with what the sponsors have that obviously won't help.

I just don't like the taste of Black or cold coffee ... of any kind !!! cheap or expensive, whatever ...

To be honnest, I hate the taste of any coffee. I'd rather drink a cold MTN Dew, but the doctor (and the wife) thinks I should lay off of those some ... So i have to divert to something
