Nevermind, I don't have to to worry about it. I don't have self mutilation issues and I'm definately not suicidal.

Meh. Not requirements.

Most people who are called "bi-polar", especially casually, just have BPD.

I can't find the article I read on it.... Maybe the RS isn't so bad. That 4.2 v8 is a great little engine.

I was joking. Last time I drank a bottle of wine, threw up, and made friends with a skunk while it ate my vomit. I'm probably obnoxious when I'm drunk. Point being I rarely drink.

The RS4 is a fat, over weight pig for its size. It would be a great car if it shed 500+lbs

This was a 2006 and it felt like the most insane car I have ever driven. It made a z06 feel slow in comparison. It was too small, too angry and the clutch needed to be pushed more than a foot and a half to hit the bottom.

It was hate and fury distilled into a car and given grip.

Interesting, because the first year (and slowest) Z06 has a 0-60 that is 1.1 seconds quicker then the RS4 in the RS4s best trim.

Of course if repairs were nothing I'd drive a Gallardo as my daily. Yep I'd sport snows in the winter

The 30K on one is ~$30K

Holy fuckin' buzzkill. HOW?

It is a race car. Engine overhaul is part of a 30K.

You sure the M5 is in your price range? Not saying you can't afford it, has nothing to do with that at all. Just like I could easily drive a Gallardo...but I can't afford to own it.

This is exactly what I hate about all new cars. The integration of all the computer systems. Why the fuck can't you just have the tranny/engine integrated and leave the interior as stand alone.

Going to really get things fucked up in the future as all the American companies are adopting the same things. And we can blame our stupid fucking president as well. CAFE standards can suck a big fat one.

All manufacturers have been using these systems for years. Lately, my bread and butter has been diagnosing communication issues in these systems. Vehicles use virtual systems, basically sharing information from one computer to another across one wire or 2 wires, to save in wiring, sensors, etc. For example, a cruise control module might grab information from the ECM (engine temp, throttle position), the BCM (AC Request) the TCM (Vehicle speed) and the ABS (wheel speed, yaw rate, slip). Rather than having all it's own input, it uses various systems on a network, and actually has very little of it's own input. Failures in these systems can be extremely difficult to diagnose, and they are big money for me.

I hate them, but not compared to what else has been recommended.

It might be on the ticket. The W actually told me today that she would rather me spend the extra on a car I would really be happy driving with lower miles than to get a new car for herself.

sad.png

Broke my heart.

She did say she would steel the RS4 if I got it, and take it everymorning before I wake up. For what ever reason she finds that car to be her unicorn.

Then that's the car I would buy if it were me
It is a scary car to drive. The clutch was actually tough to work. It needed what felt like 2 feet of travel.

It also was known as the single most expensive to own vehicle for a little while. All kinds of problems.

It would have been my dream car when I was in my teens.

maybe just a clutch adjustment? What were the main problems with the car?

Well, I would have to look it up as it may not be the same year.... however a lot of those RS models used a tuned down lamborghini motor. And before they got the hang of it, tuning it down was wrecking them. And they were destroying the gearbox and quatro system.

90% were covered under warranty, but from what I read they didn't fix anything. Just replaced and then everyone knew that if they drove it to 60% of it's ability the thing would eat itself.

Again I don't remember what years, but it was horrible growing pains and used really really spendy Lambo parts.

It is a Cosworth engine, actually.

Didn't think I'd ever ask this....

Anyone know of any decent canvas wrench rolls that aren't overpriced? Haven't found any yet, bout to just make my own damn ones. I'd be looking for two, maybe three. Sized for smaller craftsman wrenches on some, and larger snap-on's would also be nice.

Hey man, I clarified 2 times.

:)

Felt faster. It probably wasn't, but the way it pulled and pushed across pavement gave the impression of more speed.

Cosworth does all the RS engines Seth?

I keep looking for where I read about the high cost of ownership, can't find it. The v10 Audi uses is what the Gallardo uses correct? Just different heads and other "trim" correct?

I remember reading about the v10 being based on the 4.2 v8 that Audi loves.

Those brands are owned by Fiat. The RS frame is also based on the Gallardo. Just like the new Bently SUV is based off the Q7

Since when does fiat have anything to do with Audi, Lambo, and Bentley? Last time I heard VW owns all of them

The same V10 is used in both the R8 and Gallardo. It has been speculated that the engine is derived from the 4.2, which was developed by Cosworth, but both Audi and Lambo execs deny this claim.
