If I were building a super machine I would use a small stand up freezer, fill it with electric safe coolant and a circulator and dunk the whole shebang.

I am already maxing out my 660ti overclocked in SLI with the 4 monitor set up.

So yes, a new GFX card would be the best investment for me.

Aaron would get a kick out of the boinc boost too as my cards would probably move to my room mate.

Mineral oil seems to be the most common. Fluorocarbons are the best, but cost way too much.

I ran boinc for him for about a week, but it made my computer completely unusable.

I just turn it off when I am using it. The throttling mechanism doesn't work so well for me. I can actually run it in the background for 90% of what I do, but if I have too much going on it will freeze or crash.

It is way better now than it was last year when I did it before. We basically have a few thousand cores running at my place.

:-)

If you buy in bulk, it isn't so bad. 50 bucks or so for a few gallons. Maybe prices went up...

Well it seems I have made it another year at work. Seems they have yet to figure me out after 19 years. ;)

Must be different. The stuff I saw was several hundred for a few 100ml lol.

Quart of that stuff will keep you regular for sure.

If you drink a quart, wow it would be like a waterfall!

But I do want to be able to Teamviewer connect to my pc and run it seamlessly from my office. That'd be sweet.

From office from work? If so that's all riding on your internet speed. tongue.png
My office is in the same house as my home pc wink.png

I did some consulting work at SGI. Doused the processor with flourinert. It is a neat substance as it can be applied directly preheated to a degree or less under evap temp and then let nature do it's thing and relclaim it. I was a lead on the flow control mechanism for it. This was in the 90's though.
