Design Request for Xcon 15, D2, 4 cubic ft 32ish hz

Recommended Posts

Just signed in here and my Xcon 15 will be here monday and wanna get this box built. Having my brother build if for me but lacking some cash from a serious audio overhaul so figured id ask upon here.

Thoughts

Would like to be 30hz-34hz, I like them lows plus the Xconx opt. is 26hz-33hz. and everyday music

Would like about 4 net cubic ft., again subs opt. is 4

Sub up Port back i believe has sounded the best and fits the best

Car is 97 Mazda 626 es (4 door with trunk)

Box must be as shallow as possible

Length i have about 35-40" depth about 25ishin and height id like around 12 or so inches, sub depth is unlisted on SSA

will be powered by sundown 1500 V1 at 1 ohm

I think that covers it

sub specs

Also not sure if you read this but

http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/57413-are-you-about-to-make-a-thread-asking-about-box-design-read-this-first-design-questions-for-dummies/

Step 4 has a pretty good tutorial on designing sub woofer boxes if you wanna give it a go yourself

I tried for my 2 15's and honestly I just kept getting paranoid I gonna mess something up and with MDF @ $33/Sheet Don't really want to make mistakes.

Yeah I defiantly would rather have Some one do it haha. Have no experience designing and don't have theory to trial and error... Can anyone help with a design or point me in he right direction?

I'm surprised some of the box gurus haven't chimed in yet, but most people aren't happy about putting a sub up, port back in a trunk car. Hang in there, I'm sure someone will help.

not exactly 12 inches high lol.

Also sub and port back would work better, unless you have seats that go down directly into the cabin, then sub and port forward would be better.

In my town car there was this big ass hump where the gas tank was.

I would say go out and measure how much room you actually have, im sure your trunk is more than a foot high.

It is more than a foot but the opening is really small! What my brother decided was to build the box and put it in through a door or just take one off if need be lol we are gonna do sub and port forward now I guess and seal from the trunk! Hopefully she sounds good!
