using torres calc. to calculate port using aero port need advice

Recommended Posts

so im trying to figure out how to design my own boxes and learn how to use these calculators need advice on how this looks like if its right or wrong please. im looking to build a enclousre with subs up port back going into my hatchback integra. subs i will be using are 3 skar vvx 8s. ive had a couple other threads with this same thing but since i have limited space to use and want to try a aero port now. want it to be tuned either 32 hz or 33hz not sure i want to hit the lows i mostly listen to rap/hip hop and some rock but mostly rap/hip hop. please take a look and give me advice on what you guys think thanks.

so what would work? what would be the smallest aero port i could use?

could i use a 3" port with a length of 5.75"?

I guess you can just wing it. Personally I would never buy a sub from a manufacturer that doesn't list proper specs for their drivers.

To make things easy I'd say to use at the very least a 4" port. I would shoot for 20+ square inches though, if you can.

4" x 20+" Aero port? Is the torres calculator that off?

So what are the right numbers to use and equations to make the right calculations?

No man I meant port area, ONLY the opening of the port not the depth.

I wouldn't a 3" is only ~7 square inches of port area, a 4" is even on the small side.

Really? For a 2.25cu ft box?

Yes

And port area is not determined by box volume.

Why are you set on an aero port?

Slot port takes up more space that I need for the subs
