Loud front stage opinions (SQ guys beware, lol)

Recommended Posts

Well, after spending alot of time trying to figure how to mount these horns I just dont see it happening. Atleast not the proper way. I do have room for them, the problems are. I cant get the drivers side horn all the way to the left. The hood latch and park brake release are in the way. I can relocate one but not both. This side also would be higher than the pass side because of the pedals. I have been reading that they need to be all the way to the outside and the same exact height. This will be almost impossible. I am creative and decent at fabbing up things but this seems like something that will require more than I am willing to do to my truck.

So unless I have a light bulb go off in my head or just drop the truck off somewhere and hand someone some money and say make it happen it looks like I will have some horns for sale.

No because I don't think they would get loud enough, they hold good power but they would need to with a sensitivity of 93db.

I am going to hook up and listen to the horns, If I can't live without them I may try to do something but if not I will be going back to super tweeters.

the sound that will come out of the other type of horns will be much smoother than the super tweets and they will get pretty damn loud and they'll sound good doing it. you'll have a lot more range with those horns to better tune the system as well.

Honestly the outside of the car thing is more for providing a wider image.....since that's not a primary concern, simply do the best you can. Without being under the dash with you it's hard to give too much advice. As long as it's not in the middle of the dash width-wise I think you'll be fine.

As for the height....not sure how much of a height difference we are talking or what's holding it up. But if it's a few inches again for your purposes I think the difference is going to be trivial.

IMO install them the best you can with what you are willing to do and give it a listen. IMO atleast a set of HLCD installed not perfect but to the best of your abilities are still going to be better than supertweeters. Installing them properly sometimes takes a little bit of creativity.

Do you have or can you get pictures? Might help a little bit.

You can't install supertweeters right either...or the rest of the front stage the require to work. The compromises you've outlined for the horns are WAY less severe. Of course Impious basically just said that.
