Wellll lol I was going to make a post in the correct section haha! but just box making help ive been toying around with WinISD and google sketchup for about a week but eh idk its just messing around ( like i have the basic dimensions (wxhxl) and just making bs box designs that will never work lol) and then just to get a grip on what I actually have room for in my car as I dont want to starve the subs. Just simple tips like that. I know I can probably look them up but my ADD sucks and I cant just sit and try and look it up lol!

Thank you guys btw for the welcomes!

Well, usually, what you want to do. Is First, grab you're max dimensions, now, when doing this, you want to make sure you keep in my mind for other things. Such as the amplifier(s), battery(s), wires, etc. Once you find these figures, you will do the math, and see how much gross space you have. Then from there, you will calcute you're net, but subtracting the width of the material you are using, bracing, and also, you want to revisit this or take into consideration of the subwoofer(s) displacement. So then finally, you chose what and how many drivers you want to use, but you cannot forget about port displacement if you are going ported.

I hope this helps.

Hey there everyone, like Zach I am also new here. Greetings all!

I have a question or two and this seemed like a good place to seek answers. And please forgive me if my terminology is a little off, I am putting together my first system since the mid-Nineties so its been awhile.

ATM I have put together a pretty decent budget system consisting of all entry level gear.

Sony Xplōd™ XS-GTX1622S Fronts

Polk Audio db651 Rear

Sound Ordnance™ B-8P

With the

DEH-3300UB - Pioneer Electronics powering it all.

I have recently decided to get an external 4-channel amp to power the fronts and rears. However I remember most amps being set--up differently when I was in the game years ago. i;e speaker level inputs.

My head unit only has 1 set of pre-amps which I am currently using for the powered sub.

As I've been looking around I see that what I am looking for(want) does not have any speaker level inputs but they do have RCA outputs.

The question is can I run my pre-amps to a new 4-channel amp, and the run those outputs to my powered sub and get the desired outcome?

The cheapest route would be to attach a PAC SNI-15 to your speaker outputs on the headunit and use y adapters at the high amp. Or use two PAC SNI-15's and run two sets of rca's to your amp.

Thanks for the reply Quentin.

That leads me to another question.

What are the outputs on modern amps used for?

By outputs you mean RCA output then it's just an internal y splitter to send signal to another amp.

That sounds like I wouldn't need the PAC SNI-15 that you mentioned, to run my powered sub.
