what do i need to upgrade?

im upgrading my sub to an xcon probably 12..maybe 15 (id like to get atleast some hair movement for an extra $10 why not)

battery to amp is 4G wire

im driving a 98 honda crv so its a small suv

question is... for running that amount of power do i: need to do the big 3? need to upgrade the stock battery (51R there pritty small) OR add another one?

What would be the ideal set up to make sure everything is working full potential? and do i NEED to do it?

Reason im asking is im probably not gunna be running at full power all the time and id rather save me the time and money if i could.

Help much appreciated.

I'd start with the big 3 and go from there. If you truly don't crank it often you might not need anything else. Just put it all in and monitor your voltage.

I think a lot would depend on how many amps your alternator puts out. With the big 3 and the additional battery you should be fine, but I would stick to class D amps because they are more efficient.

with a large battery and big 3 you'll still be pushing the limits of your stock alternator. the amp you have should be pulling about 100+A itself.

It depends on how cheap your cheap wire is, but the Rockford amp only needs 4 gauge power and ground wires.

changing the subs isn't going to make a difference on how much amperage your system is pulling. either way, your still pulling every bit of power from your alternator that it possibly has and probably still not enough. even with a large battery your still going to have a good amount of voltage drop and the only good way to fix that is with an upgraded HO alt.

There is nothing wrong with powering 2 Xcon's with a Rockford T1500. There is absolutely no need to run rms power for subs to get loud. If you doubled the power by getting another T1500 you would likely see less than a 3 db increase in volume.

Adding a second sub will get you a 3 db gain. That is an audible difference, but sound is kinda funny. Think of it this way... you're in a dark room and turn on a 40 watt lamp- lots of light in the room. If you turn on another 40 watt lamp it does get brighter, but only a little bit more. It sounds a little depressing, but 3 db isn't that bad of an increase, just an expensive one.

well 2 subs give you more cone area so your moving more air.

Also gives you more options on how you wire your subs ohms wise, im not familiar with the amp honestly.

1500w doesn't require that much honestly.

4guage is fine.

depending on what your alternator puts out you might be fine with just running 2 batteries.

at 14v you need 106amps to get 1500w....but you also have other acc like blower motor, lights, ect that take away from that .

but lets say your on 12v car off...you need 125a

so car off a kinetik 3800 for instance has 138ah, which is more than the 125 you need.

so at a higher votage you would need even less.

or maybe im just bored and telling fabricated lies of gold

then lets say the alt doesn't put out enough power to support the system and he has 2 batteries in the back, the batteries continuously die and he has to charge them every night, the amp doesn't get the voltage it needs at high volume putting it and the subs at risk, the batteries go bad from constantly having to discharge and recharge on a daily basis. i don't know, just throw it all in there, hook it all up and see what happens.

You need to use devices which consumes much less power.
