The onyx only has 1 70 amp fuse and isnt fan cooled.should i still give this amp a go. I want an amp to do rated and push the sundown e tens to limits. Will i get that with this amp?

I doubt you can do better within your budget for a new amp. There is no reason to "push them to the limit". Even if the amp only does 700 rms at 1 ohm you would not be any louder with 1000 rms. I have heard that the onyx amps are capable of doing rated power, but as I already said it won't make an audible difference.

A lot of amps are not fan cooled. That's what the heatsink is for. 14.4v X 70amps= 1008w. Yes stick with that amp.

That being said it sounds like you are on the right track. However I would recommend getting a 6.5 adapter so that you can run a decent component set.

If you're going to run a 1000 watt amp, you'll want to do "the big 3".

Lots of places sell adapters to mount a 61/2" woofer and 1" tweeter in a 6x9" opening. Check Crutchfield or Sonic Electronix. Probably less than $20.

If you can build an enclosure you can make adapters. Just cut an mdf ring to fit your door and use an adhesive to bond it. I used liquid nails with good results, I'll try to find a picture.
