I really like mine! So much in fact that I have 2 brand new Crescendo 8's in the garage that I am not using because of the RF's. They are much more shollow than the cendos too which was good for me.

Don't run a 6.5 and 8 together. That wouldn't serve any purpose.

They will need some processing but when that's all said and done they'll sound pretty good. Much better than most of the typical suggestions.

yeah, this will be my first attempt at running PA mids and tweets. i'm just hoping for something that'll sound decent and keep up with the sub stage when i crack them open.

I like my RFs too, but if your gonna go big in the Hummer than I would suggest better quality speakers. Just depends on what your looking for and budget.

there really isn't a component system out there that'll keep up with the sub stage i have planned so i'm going with a good set of PA's and if i need to add more then i will, but as a start i'm gonna stick with a set of PA 8's and a set of either Cendo FT1-se's or the equivalent. i think that should get me going

When I say better quality I don't mean component speakers. I'm talking about companies who specialize in pro audio equipment, speakers that will get louder and play lower than rockford fosgates will. Check out usspeaker.com or parts-express.com.

Why no 10s or 12s, less speakers and will still be louder.

Mating an 8" mid to a supertweeter is not a good plan, at all.

What is your budget? What do you have for processing?

i haven't completelly thought everything through yet. i was just going to start getting things piece by piece as i'm in absolutelly zero hurry to put it together. my plan is to put it all in next spring as i'm also going to be doing the Duramax Conversion to my truck as well. I don't want to run 10's or 12's in the door because i just don't think it would look good there. i know that with the 8's i can put it very close to the factory location and it will look factory when you look at the door panel, but a 12 in the door. . . .

so if anybody wants we can make a "lets pick what ChILL should put in his truck" thread because i am totally open to suggestion.

A member on here named jroadtatts put 12" midbasses in the doors of his Honda (a Civic maybe, can't remember for sure). Looks plenty good and delivers "EPIC" midbass, or at least that was his goal. I've yet to hear it in person but have no doubts the midbass in that car is indeed "EPIC". I think anyone could make a 10 or 12 look very good in pretty much any vehicle if they took the time to plan ahead and work carefully to achieve that goal.

I can understand that if you weren't looking to put that much work or money into it that settling with the 8's would very likely be much cheaper and easier, but it seems like it sure would be hard for 8's to achieve the same output and response that the larger drivers could offer.

That's just my thought on the subject. I know if I were to undertake such a project I would be looking at the larger size drivers.

I don't understand ... Your planning on installing enough sub bass power to completely destroy your beautiful truck in a matter of months and your worried about everything else looking factory stock ???

If it's to blend with a supertweet in a 2 way, it''ll fail miserably

I would never run a 10 or 12 in a car as mid, horrible off axis...

There are seriously healthy 6.5"-7" drivers out there that will mate well and have plenty of output....

I have though myself of using some infinite baffle shallow mount 8in subs and running one in each door for mid bass (60-200) and running my Rockfords 6.5 from 200-4000 like they are now. The Rockford PA speakers sound good, get loud but dont expect alot of midbass. I just cant find anything on Parts express in a dedicated midbass that will handle much power. I guess that doesnt mean they wont get loud but curious of some suggestions. Not trying to highjack thread but trying to add to it. Maybe for both of us, lol. And contrary to what some people say, the Crescendo FT1's sound great and get loud as hell. I have them eq'd well and running them 4k up.....I have them ramped at 4k lower side, 5k a hair higher, and peaking them at 8k and 12k and ramped back down at 16k, 20k. This is my listening preference and they do great.

When playing rock I will switch them to a different setting which is more tame on the 4k,5k and 8k.
