2 or 4 channel

Hi guys I've been looking around at some mids and highs. I'm thinking about trying to run 2 6.5s an 2 tweeters in each front door of a 03 ford explorer and maybe some coaxials in the rears. My question is what kind of amp should I run a 2 channel or a 4 channel? It's seems the 2 channels are usually quite a bit cheaper. What are advantages of running a 4 channel?

Depending on how you wire it up if I run all 8 speakers I could wire 4 speakers to 1 channel at 4 ohms and the other 4 speakers to the other channel at 4 ohms.

I am still learning here but why is this a bad idea as long as I keep it to a 4ohm load everything should be okay right or am I missing something here?

the audio will sound horrible just randomly plugging them all into the same channels... on top of that you'll risk destroying them too

Any suggestions on a nice 4 channel amp that doesn't cost $500?

If you want any real help you must give us more information. What is your budget, what are your audio goals. There is a wealth of information on this forum, slow down, read the rules, ask good questions.
