Impossible to get in contact with SI by e-mail

Recommended Posts

Hi, people!

I've been sending some e-mails to SI lately, but have been getting zero response because I get a delivery failure notification.

If somebody can tell me how to reach these guys, I'd be very thankful. The subject is getting a SI Magnum D2 15" sent to me in Norway, and possibly getting myself a dealer status if it's possible. Norway needs some better equipment than Pyle/Boss/Sony/MTX etc...

By the way - just out of curiousity - which is better:

The Stereo Integrity D2 15", or the SoundSplinter RL-p 15". The RL-p's cost less than half, but seems quite good after what I've heard. Is the SPL and SQ comparable between these two, and what about the durability?

In my car I'll be using a 2.2 cu.ft. sealed box, with an optional port for SPL competition (tuned high). Have a 3000W RMS @ 2 ohm amplifier :)

Thanks!

Regards from Norway,

Jan Rune

well, u came to the right place to get in touch with si and nick. he should be answering ur post anytime, i'm sure.

as to the rl-p vs mag...well...i've got to play with teh mag 15 and i own a few soundsplinter subs, including a rl-p....and yeah, they are that compareable. u can't lose with either one. now, for throwing 3kwrms at a single 15, i'd have to suggest the magd2. but i'm not sure it really wants that much power. but in a sealed box, it might do ok. but then again, u'll need two of them to get to ur impedence.

in that case, it's a toss up.....good luck making that decision!! both companies are excellent.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

I'm having a problem getting a response from Nick also. I'm not getting undeliverable mails - it seems that the emails are delivered.... I dunno if he is just busy with something or what's going on. I had tried to purchase a 15" mag from him last month. :hay:

I've contacted www.showrides.net, and I've gotten an offer.

Sounds promising. Seems I get a Mag D2 15" for $150 less than I payed for my previous setup - three Premier TS-W3004SPL. So that's about $650 delivered in Norway. (Car audio is sickingly expensive in Norway!!).

In WinISD, these to setups are almost exactly the same in frequency response and output, allthough I know this will change a bit in real life. The Magnum has more than twice the Xmax and much more than half the Sd, so it should be quite a bit louder - and put me in Street B instead of Street C! :)

I'm currently in contact with SoundSplinter also, and it seems like a RL-p will be about $150 cheaper than the Mag again. Nevertheless, I guess I'll go for the Mag, since its capable of handling more power (my amp is rated 1800W RMS @ 4 ohms, which should sound like goodie-goodie, or the widow maker of ears @ high volumes). Come to think of it, I think I'll put a big black "Widow Maker"-sticker on my rear window. Muahaha. I'm such a kid.

Thanks for all help and quick responses. I now know where to go when looking for help and info! :)

BTW:

In a hatchback (1990 Toyota Celica Alltrack), what kind of box would you go for?

I have about 2-2.2 cu.ft. to play with (know it's little), thinking about sealed enclosure, sub facing rear window (e.g. upwards), and a big port facing rear for dB-drag competing. Would I lose a lot of Xmax by doing this, or is it ok? Probably it's the only way to get that big sub in there! :D

The Mag is rated at 950 RMS. If you damage the driver from overpowering, you will be at a loss. MAny people are running more power, but they are doing so with an error to caution. Keep that in mind.

Now, the Mag may handle quite a bit, but the best thing about it is, it doesn't take much to get the thing moving. Why pump 1400+ watts into it when you can get pretty much the same output at the RMS rating?

then i send money on paypal... great buisness :P you know rinse repeat

im sure he'll make a fortune off me... :)

Anyways yea im going from 1200w-1 12" mag to 900-w-2 12"s so that 450 a pop ill let you know how its goes :/

but soon i shall buy uber expensive amp to make things rattle ^.^

Nick's e-mail server gives alot of trouble for some reason. My SI address is doesn't work so well either so I know first hand :) Best thing to do is to call him and leave a message since more than likely if he hasn't e-mailed you back there was an error somewhere in the pipeline and he didn't get the e-mail.

i think it would be expensive to call norway and that cell phone of his probably doesn't have international calling on it, I know it has to either be Verizon or Alltel and if its Verizon I can talk to him all day long!!!, lol, anyways, the 2.2cu ft box will be nice and the power is a little much so be careful. But I prefer the Mag as the lower end is a tad bit better and they seem to handle more power better but the RL-p is a great sub and either way you go you'll be happy.
