VW Passat install

Recommended Posts

The A-pillars were wrapped by somebody who has a bit of experience on that side of things. I never ventured further than vinyl.

Funny thing is I saw a car that looks a LOT like the P5, might be a european version of the P5 (Mazda 323) and thought that it might be of use if you want A-pillars

Very nice work, Adrian.

Were the A-pillars wrapped in alcantara?

Excellent work! Anxious to see the rest! Anymore pics of the overall dash and pillars?

Was curious how the on-axis 3 way set up using the a-pillars sounds? I have a jetta and some extra a-pillars in the garage, thinking of doing a similar setup for a front stage. Is it to much "in your face" or fairly well rounded with the 8's in the doors?

Thnx, Mark

For the time I spent testing it out, it didn't seem in your face, surprisingly. My friend (the owner of the car) lives all the way across the country, so at least for a year or so I won't have the opportunity to listen to the system.

Until I build some aluminum trim rings for the A-pillars I probably won't have any pictures to post car since nothing changed from the current pictures smile.png

The pillars on your car are completely different and I think it's easier to get more volume for the speaker.

Well that's a bummer he doesn't live closer to ya. Will be eager to see more, but will patiently wait. Yeah my pillars don't have the vent built in. Only downfall, my defrost vent is in the top of the dash. So yes i will be able to get more volume, just have to watch out for that. I was noticing that the overall dash shapes are the same and that's what intrigued me. Its gunna be another year or so before i can even think about this type of project. So on to further research and design. Again great work and cant wait to see more!

Cheers,

Mark
