New amp/box help please.

I have an 18" IA Death Penalty and a Kenwood hu.

I am wondering what amps you would recommend for the 18"

I also have Kicker KS series speakers amplified on a hifonics zues.

basically wondering what amp to get and if facing the subwoofer up or facing it toward the front seats would be better..if I face it up would it be a big noticeable difference. I plan to tune it around 37hz

Is this going in your corolla? What are your space restrictions dimensions wise?

Get an amp that fits your budget, and if not too much over the RMS of your sub. Without the coil configuration, we can't help much with the amp. In cars, I've found subs to be louder facing back, but my cheap-ass faced it forward to eliminate some of the trunk's rattling, to avoid buying deadener... although, I know in my last car, with a trunk, an 18 wouldn't fit vertically... Either way it will get loud.

Yes it is and was thinking of trying to get a box specs of 35w 18h 22d and mounting sub on top of box along with my port

The sub isn't in my trunk its back seat I got video of it on forum if you want to see my car and what I got to work with

So basically your only option is to fire upward?

That will likely yield nasty trunk rattle, so be sure to fix that.

So the box is just going to sit over your rear seats?

Yeah that's minor to me I've used foam to stop rattle when I had my two 15s worked well lol either face forward or up what ever ifs best

um i'm not sure if ur kidding with me or really want to know but if u worked with 1 u will know why i said that

i have used a clean 3k on it with no problem but i wouldnt go about telling everybody to do like me when its a 1500wrms rated sub so 2k is fine

IA subs handle WAAAY more then the rms rating. I myself have 2krms on 2 Lethals, which are rated 600wrms each.

It's an arbitrary number-not based on anything.

I'd suggest he buys an amplifier that fits his budget, made by a reputable company, and is advertised to handle the impedance point he wants to wire the coils to.

Whether his budget allows for a "1000w" amp or "2000w" amp, seems null to me.

Well I was thinking about the BC2000 for it, putting the 2250 rms to it as an everyday bumper but wanted opinions on the amp and or other options/brands I want at least 1500+ RMS on it though as I want a big noticeable difference compared to my two 15" CVRs as they flexed my car more then my 18 did on same RMS but has more air movement so..

I got ZX1000.1 kicker amp that I had it on but want more.

Doing the big 3 hopefully this weekend with my dad as I don't know much about under the hood but can wire just about anything electrical just need to know where the things are haha. got 12ft of Knukonceptz OFC for it, hopefully a noticeable change after I do that as well.

I would agree with Mr. Stephan here. Keep within your budget, and find a decent amp that can handle the wattage rating at the impedance you're running at. If you're not trying to hit numbers, your ear won't be able to pick up much of a difference. If you're going to go more than rated, make sure you do it properly, and you're set.

It can work. I'd run it at 2 ohms, if you haven't already bought the sub, but I'm not you and I don't care much about the amount of power. I'm going to be running the Icon (1250 watts) on 1100 watts, but I've done systems that give the subs a couple hundred over. Just be careful with your gain, man.

Nothing wrong with having some headroom on the amp. Also allows future upgrades.

Problem is after a while people start getting greedy and start inching up the gains. So long as you aren't one of those people...
