How to stop rear package tray vibration

Recommended Posts

I upgraded speakers in Challenger and with better bass comes a little vibration in the rear package tray. It's installed correctly, just rattling/vibrating over and behind the sub. I placed a small piece of rubber between the tray and the rear window and that helped some but on some notes still getting the rattle. Any easy fixes here?

What ever rattles hit it with a hammer until it stops. If it doesn't stop, hit harder or get a bigger hammer.

Ok really, check out Don at SDS in the sound deadening section. He has helped me out with mine. Great products and he won't try to sell you stuff you don't need.

Edit: I clicked on the new topic and didn't realize you were already here. Been a long day lol.

Either way, Don will hook you up :)

You'll want some CLD to help reduce the vibrations and some foam to place between the rear deck cover and the metal of the rear deck itself.

Contact Don at www.sounddeadenershowdown.com, he's got what you'll need

I've put Stinger Roadkill on the metal tray. The noise seems to be between the window and the fiberboard tray, not the tray and the metal underneath. Either that or it's vibrating on top of the speaker itself.

Then you'll need to either physically secure the panel or again place foam between the panel that is vibrating and whatever it's vibrating against.
