Amp gets very hot

I have a rockford fosgate t1500-1bdcp amp and a ascendant havoc sub wired to 1 ohm. My amp will get very hot even when the music is very quiet. Also when i turn up the volume loud my sub will make a popping sound. The gain is turned all the way down, and i also have a stock alternator. Any help will be appreciated.

Amps can and will get out, due to a lot of variables. This is a common thing, if it gets too hot, the amp will/should go into protect. If you would like it to be played at a cooler temp, I suggest installing a fan, or keeping it in a well ventilated area. The loudness of your music has little to do with the amps temp. Check your ground for the popping noise, Make sure the ground for the amp is sanded down completely on the surface, as well as the terminal you are using.

also what gauge wire you running?

double check that the ground is solid

My car Is a 1995 Ford Taurus and my amp is in the trunk. The temp is usually around 90's. I will check my ground and see if that's causing the popping problem. Right now I have 4awg until I get another battery.

Good to hear, proper grounding is very important.
