where to place 2x12" for best SQ?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm designing a custom boot for my car, what is the best way to place 2 x 12" phase aliante subs in a boot?

I was told the best place would be one on each side (one on left side and the other one on the other side).

and I would love to do a fibreglass job :)

something like this:

but on my car would be 2 of them..so one on the left and the other on the the other side.

what do you think?

or is it better to do something like this (which one is better, sub firing the front of the car or the rear)?:

its a boot (sedan)

can anyone help me please to get the right measurement (volume) for 2 x 12" phase aliante subs.

sealex box.

here are some links of the subs:

the car is a sedan honda civic '02.

length, width and height of the boot respectively are (approx) 140cm, 95cm and 46cm

I'm going to do it like this:

I personally prefer rear firing.

I havent seen those subs forever, one of the cooler looking shallow mount woofers.

those are wild subs, you could get away with a smaller box since the motor displacement is so little, but yes I think you should fire the subs in the same direction, be it forward or back ward, you do not want them facing each other because they will be fighting each other

If you do fire them at each other, play with having one out of phase with the other and see if it is better or worse. You never really know what will happen until you try it. I'd fire them back though.

yes I will def fire them in the same direction. fire them to the front of the car (as thats what friend has recommended for best SQ)

can someone help me to work out the correct measurement/volume for the subs? (sealed)
