2 strapped or 1 big one

Recommended Posts

So this is what I am thinking. For my 2 zcon's I need more. They want more. Currently have a 2500d but was thinking of going with a 4500d. Or maybe even 2 2500d's strapped. Only problem is, zcon's are 1 ohm. Every where I look, for strapping u want 2 ohm. Which way should I go?

Sooooo, why not just buy another and put one sub on one amp one on the other.

In a situation like that I normally run a higher load daily and at a show I run .5 ohm. Which means I run 1 ohm to two amps strapped which lets each amp see .5. However, you have to have the electrical to back it up, and in some applications amps just don't like it.

From a safer stand point a single 1 ohm amp would work just as well.

Would a saz4500d do good for the 2 of them? And how many batts would I need.

Have a 270 mechman, soon to be 270+300 dcpower, big 3 in 0 gauge, 2 runs of 0 gauge to the 31m marine diehard platinum in the bed

Is this for metering or daily driving?

If it's for daily driving, I honestly wouldn't bother. You're looking at 2.5db before power compression, so realistically somewhere less than 2db. It might be an audible difference best case not dramatically so, especially considering the added expense and increase in necessary electrical system.

If you want more output, look at redesigning the enclosure first.

ya 1 4500d would be fine for 2 zcons.... i would get atleast another group 31 batt....

2 smaller amps strapped is a better option than 1 large one. My .02

I am thinking a lot on redesigning. What would be the best way to have subs/port facing? Subs up, port up is what i was thinking. I would like the subs behind the seats, and the port in the middle. I'm not good at designing but I do know I want more!!!!!!!
