RL-p SQ or SPL???

Recommended Posts

Would you recommend running RL-p's as spl subs?? I have two 15"s in a ported box W/ 2.5cu., and 900w rms each. The box is ported to 32hz. I was told that would be best for an LSQ set up. I was just wondering about going from LSQ to SPL. :huh2:

are you wanting to compete?

if so you will probably have to tune higher and run more power, but I am curious as to what numbers your hitting now, you have to be up there as it is

Well, my real issue is wanting to know what these subs can really take/do. I'll find out next week what my numbers are with the set up I have now. I love the way they sound, but if I ever wanted to put them in another box for straight SPL, what would be best as far as size/power. :fing34:

I am not sure because I have not competed with mine. But there are many things you will have to find out. A res freq of your truck would be nice, but keep in mind if you tune higher your going to lose the low lows and over all SQ that you have now.

How did the box go together? :)

Glad you like how they sound.

For your truck, you would probably want to tune in around 40-45Hz...

My ex cab s10's res freq is 57hz, but tuning anywhere near that high would kiil any type of good sound you would get out of them.
