I'm a believer

Recommended Posts

Well, it has been a while since I last posted, and I finally got around to hooking up my IS4065 in my car (the guy who bought my Planet Audio VX3002 wanted it). Well, I had been procrastinating doing it because I figured it would sound the same, well, if I had known what I do now, it would have been swapped out waay ahead of time.

I turned on the car to set everything up and I noticed that my music sounded different. I quickly eq'ed something not even listening (just setting my typical eq because i had to switch from network mode to regular mode).

The first song I played had tons more detail than ever before. I keep listening to everything over and over again to get the full effect that I have been missing. This amp makes my Planet Audio VX3002 and Orion 4004 sound like garbage. I have always been one of those "a watt is a watt" guys, but now I have changed my opinion.

Thanks Flakko.

Get an oscilloscope if you do :)

I have a very hard to impossible time hearing any differences between indentical topologies under the clipping threshold, but w/e.

I have a scope and can travel, sort of anyway. Office in LA I "get" to spend time in frequently, 31v input Spectrum analyzers too.

ooooooo nice..... o yea, got those benched specs for me to look at? =D

factory = busy now :( cant bench anything.... although being totally honest, the bridged numbers on the XT1600.2 and 800.2 are fibbed. im gonna need to change the spec thread.

When you conduct this same experiment in a scientifically controlled setting, with a scientifically valid experiment, let me know ;)

The differences you heard are likely due to either power or gain differences. That simple.

= crap.

Nuff said.

Badged as anything but is still that same. Buy a low line, expect a lowline. Period.

I dont want to hear some asshat complaining because he bought a IS, expecting a AX. :jerkit:

^^^^ lol seriously... people ask me, "can i drop this 2080 to 1 ohm bridged?"

im like DUDE its the entry line!!!

i mean for the money, the entry levels are AMAZING. but they will NOT hold up to the usamps of the past

I dunno

The Xterminator line ( entry level) competes against some top of the line amps from other companies.
