As in Hydrochloric acid bombs?? Explain, I may have to borrow some of the high molarity stuff from the chem lab next monday if you care to tell me how to do it? And if the HCl does mean hydrochloric acid.

it'll be kinda hard after bracing and ports.... some vid on ROE where a guy sat inside an enclsoure during a burp with a audio controll meter by his ear, if i remember it wasl ike 170dB in the box in the corner where his head was....dumbass.

HCl bombs are simple.

Think about it.

HCl + Al (or any other metal, the less reactive the better but not too unreactive, aluminum is best, Iron works "ok") => AlCl3 + H2

H2 is hydrogen gas.

Mix ingredeants in bottle and cap tightly. Aluminum foil has a waxy coating on the outside so shake untill the coating is eaten away by the acid (helps to tear and ball up the aluminum) shake untill the bottle gets stiff, throw at least 20ft away form you and watch. Big boom, big cloud of HCl condensed in hyrogen (bad for paint and lungs and all other things), lots of heat. Throw away and repeat.

High Molarity or concentrated is way to strong (racts too fast and is very dangrous) the Semi Dilute used for pools seems to be just about right. 1 gal and 1 rolld of foil will do 25 full sized bottles and probably 50 20oz bottles.

thinner bottles are louder. Gator-aid bottles and winsheild washer fluid bottles are too thick and just kinta "pop" they dont "boom"

new enclsoure is bigger net volume, port exits out the drivers side, lil more port area, straight port and the port is removeable so i can change tuning with 6 bolts :D

Interesting, never care to think of chemistry outside of class, so I wouldn't have thought of that. I hate that class. Looks pretty fun though.

Hmmmm, maybe i shouldnt have told you how to do that. My Chem teacher always said "do w/e the fudge you want as long as yo uare smart enough to know what is going to happen" lol well that is the jist of it.

lol, j/k i got in somuch trouble thanks to the AP students and my own knowladge getting ahead of me.

just be careful. Even pool HCl will fudge your lungs. :fing34:

The 3oz styrofoam cups at my work come in these transluscent plastic bags.

When you fill them with air and push the 2 ends together it makes one really loud bang.

Its crazy how loud it is from such a small bag. I made myself temporarily deaf from it.

P.S

dont use votamin bottles either, takes to much time for them to blow up

These make a big bang. Not a high pitched one though. from probably 15yds away i felt a little kick in my chest from all but hte windsheild washer fluid bottle.

Bigger Boom

Aluminum Foil 2.50 (geustimate)

HCl $15/gal (geustimate.

25 big boombs for less than $20

its chepaer than fireworks and realeases a poisonis gas too which adds to the cool factor. Chemistry is teh roxor.

i wanted to but no way in hell im paying 40 bucks a pop for some heat gunned PVC.

i tried to track down some 6" for me to heat gun and flare myself but to no avail. it was either too short or nobody had any. and 6" only comes in 20' sections aroudn here.

was gonna make a fiberglass one but im not gonna have the time before Fernindina.

Cool thing about this enclosure is that im basically makeing an 11x14" removeable section to play wtih different ports. Intially im gonna have a daily port (28Hz tuning) and an SPL port (38Hz tuning. that was my peak before, i may exparement with tuning later)

All i have to do to use Aeroports is make an 11x14 baffle and put them in :) glass the baffle, drill some holes, and bolt it into the enclosre.

Daily Port

still have some sanding to do on the port flare though its looking good. i came upwit ha great idea for flareing square ports. JigSaw + 45* sand a whole bunch and you have a flare. a crude flare, but a flare. to make it flare more than 3/4" usea thicker baffle and go like 45, 30 and sand.

this may already be a common practice but im proud of myself for thinking of it on my own

picked up my GF's HU. not wonderful but more than what she needs. $160 pioneer form walmart. Her mom was like "here take this CD player back to walmart, its broken, take that and here is another $100"

yeah, that gave use a limit of $128 after tax and i was broke at the time so our budget was 170.

I love how walmart puts a HU's with in a close price comparison next to each other, except the one nicer sony HU that happensto have no price next to a 160 unit...yeah, when the guy went to pull it out it was only $230. another reason i hate walmart.

and for thoes who will call me hypocritial. I didnt buy anything from walmart, i didnt even want to go there. But i refuse to pay local audioshop prices for HU's and i wanted amanda to play around with it to makesure she liked it before we got it. wasnt my money (well $20 was but w/e)

we also had to wait 20 min for someone to come help use anyway.

oh yeah, another cool thing about this enclosure. looking down the port you will be able to see the motor structure of the Ava or the TC9 nice and clear. :slayer:
