Firing forward,up, or back????

I need advice on where to face my subs. my current box only fits one way. facing back, it is in a 1996 geo metro and was wondering us anyone had experience with subs back in the hatch. Thank you very much

Depends on the response you want.

For sealed applications, I think you might want it facing forward for the tighter, more controlled response.

But for "Loud" or SPL numbers, I've always seen them firing back in a hatch. Just makes more sense to utilize all the space back there and bounce it to the front ...

Is there any thing someone can do to determine what's best for their vehicle w/o actually building 2 sets of boxes?
